Trump to ban corporations from purchasing homes. This is a huge deal IMO and will secure the future of the matrimonial home that leads to families

And you would be praising it, or have 'no comment', because you won't say a negative word against your side. :dunno: People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

As long as you acknowledge my point is correct.

The only I ever "sat" on a property is when we sold our prior house to buy this one. We were not in a hurry to move, but when I say we sat on it, I mean like two months instead of accepting an offer in two weeks. These investors aren't buying up homes and letting them sit there for months or years. They lose money doing that. Even if there is no loan involved, they're paying property taxes, insurance, property management, etc. They longer they do that with a vacancy the less profit they are going to make.

But then, I'm betting you are not a multi-billion dollar realty firm neither.

As you just did mine. lol

Now after acknowledging your hypocrisy we will then note your brain washing that leads you to jump to conclusions.

What makes me a liberal?

Being pro-life?

Being pro-second amendment?

Supporting the electoral college?

Supporting leaving the Supreme Court at 9?

Supporting balancing the budget?

Regarding your first link, I won't flippantly claim that has never happened, but your source gives no actual example of it. He says, "This isn’t theory—it’s happening in towns across the country," yet provides no real example, which shouldn't be hard given how frequently he implies it's taking place. His claims amount to "Trust me, bro."

The second link involves corporations buying up properties and renting them out to tenants. That's not what we're talking about and why would that be a problem? If you're a renter, believe me, you WANT your home to be owned by Blackrock or one of those other corporations as there is a better likelihood of your issues getting addressed. It's the mom & pop landlords who are the slumlords that don't do repairs and upkeep. They don't have the vast pool of money to draw from and corporations can be on the hook for more liability due to their value. I was shocked at some of the conditions of rentals I had looked at when I was in the market for multiunit properties that were owned by private landlords.

All I can tell you is that I've caught numerous reports from different people and stations reporting on this over the past couple of years.

Apparently it is for some people as these corps buy up the properties then force people to pay far higher rental rates than it would have cost them to buy the house outright (dividing annual costs by 12).

I guess the problem is that since Covid, landlords have doubled and tripled what their rental rates are compared to before Covid.

Something happened to Trump over New Years, idk what it is, but it seems he's become a firebreathing populist firebrand in the ilk of Sanders and Warren virtually overnight

Key Points
  • President Donald Trump said he “will not permit” defense companies to issue dividends or stock buybacks until those firms address his complaints about the industry.
  • Trump, on Truth Social, also took aim at defense contractors’ executive pay packages.
  • Shares of General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman each fell about 3% following Trump’s comments.
The Clinton-Bush Cult is in shambles rn

This policy is gaining traction with many Canadians on twitter. People asking PM Carney to do the same. Challenging Canada to care about its citizens.

Trump continues to make it impossible for his opponents to pin him down. Is he a Neo-Con? A traditional conservative? A libertarian? A populist?

If he looks out for citizens, it will linger longer after his time in office and it will rebuild the absolutely necessary U.S Middle Class.

The West relies on American success. Even those who don't know this will learn in time just how important American success is to our ability to maintain some semblance of liberty, even in countries in which it is largely fleeting of late...

Just announced.

He is also going to educate the self-serving, global elite in Davos. I will be tuning in for sure.

Is MAGA back stronger than ever?

If a Democrat prez did this stuff he/she would be accused of interfering with free enterprise.

Trump says he will not permit dividends and stock buybacks for defense companies

Trump says Venezuela will purchase American products with revenue from oil deal

This is what an autocracy looks like.

Odds are he does nothing but if it was a Democrat arguing that MAGA would be yelling "Socialism, socialism".

(if this is even real)

Obama said he was going after the fat cats on Wall Street. I'm still waiting for the DOGE rebates and Tarriff rebates. The best bet to avoid the corporations is to buy a small house and build it up. the corporations don't usually buy small fixer uppers.

Thanks for the laugh, if you think that's what I did, then so did you.

The summation of your posts on here say you are lying.

Read it slowly. The word "you" is the object. I realize you probably never made it to high school English since they kicked you out in middle school for being 18. I'll bet that GED didn't cover it.

Where the verb? See what I did there? :auiqs.jpg:

Probably not since you won't admit you were wrong, bet your wife loves you for that. 🤡

The whole idea of corporations that allow the owners to be unaccountable for the actions of the companies they own is socialist.

If we are going to allow corporations be be "legal persons" but who are legally above the law, then of course we should regulate them.

If it were up to me, I would allow corporations, but also allow plaintifs to sue the corporation and all of its owners. Also, its owners can be held criminally liable for its crimes.

I was just discussing this with my wife recently. There are corporations all over the place gobbling up any home they can get their hands on to rent out. Bad for making homes unaffordable to the average person, not to mention rising rents. I hope this is real because it has been a very major problem.
