Trump supports immigration visas backed by Musk: ‘I have many H-1B visas on my properties’

You sure are dumb

H-1b visa holders are not immigrants

Overview

The H-1B program applies to employers seeking to hire nonimmigrant aliens as workers in specialty occupations or as fashion models of distinguished merit and ability. A specialty occupation is one that requires the application of a body of highly specialized knowledge and the attainment of at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. The intent of the H-1B provisions is to help employers who cannot otherwise obtain needed business skills and abilities from the U.S. workforce by authorizing the temporary employment of qualified individuals who are not otherwise authorized to work in the United States.

The law establishes certain standards in order to protect similarly employed U.S. workers from being adversely affected by the employment of the nonimmigrant workers, as well as to protect the H-1B nonimmigrant workers. Employers must attest to the Department of Labor that they will pay wages to the H-1B nonimmigrant workers that are at least equal to the actual wage paid by the employer to other workers with similar experience and qualifications for the job in question, or the prevailing wage for the occupation in the area of intended employment – whichever is greater.

Sorry for your ignorance, but H1b visa holders are temp workers not immigrants

He got their votes. That's it. That transactional relationship is no longer a priority.
I SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO USE IT'

Trump frequently talks about the arrivals of migrants who cross the US-Mexico border illegally, but his policy proposals while in the White House also included curbs on legal immigration such as family-based visas and the visa lottery program.

In a 2016 primary debate, Trump spoke about the H-1B visa program and said it was “very bad” and “unfair” for US workers.

“First of all, I think and I know the H-1B very well. And it's something that I frankly use and I shouldn't be allowed to use it. We shouldn't have it,” he said. “Second of all, I think it's very important to say, well, I'm a businessman and I have to do what I have to do.”

"I have to do what I have to do."

That sums it up very well. He justified knowingly being unfair to American workers, who he cares so much about :auiqs.jpg:, because the Orange Messiah ALWAYS looks out for #1 first.

President-elect Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants to crack down hard on immigration once he’s in office. But his own businesses keep employing foreign guest workers - hiring more of them this year than any other year on record.

The Trump businesses that have increased their numbers of foreign guest workers include his Mar-a-Lago private club in Florida, a number of his golf courses, and a winery in Virginia.

This year, Trump’s companies got the green light from the government to hire 209 foreign workers, almost double the amount of guest workers his businesses were permitted to hire about 10 years ago. They include housekeepers, cooks, desk clerks and servers.

At Trump’s properties, most of the guest workers have received work visas via the H-2B program, allowing companies to hire staff if there aren’t enough Americans able, willing, qualified or available to take temporary jobs.

I wake up this morning to see a thread about immigration is still in the politics board.

What the hell?

I am going to the Alabama/Michigan bowl game here in Tampa in a few hours. How the **** can I concentrate on the game knowing an immigration thread is in the politics forum.

The threads on the muslim driving into the Christmas market in GERMANY were immediately and properly moved to the Europe forum…so we are no longer discussing that topic.

I know this is IMPOSSIBLE…but it almost seems like threads are moved out of the most trafficked forum as a way to downrank them and lower their participation. It is not, I know no moderators would be that pathetic. It just seems like it possibly could be that way to someone who does not know how amazing and fair the mods are on this site,

There are also many non merged threads on this topic….weird.

President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on a simmering feud among MAGA allies over H-1B worker visas, telling the New York Post that he supports the program, according to the outlet.

Trump told the New York Post that he has “always liked the visas.” The H-1B visa program allows employers to temporarily hire non-U.S. citizens for highly skilled jobs.

“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” he said, according to the outlet’s report.

Yes, I understand what they are for. But does Dotard? Putting aside his comment about "always liking visas" even though he also said they were "bad and unfair" to American workers, what "many" positions at his properties would need to be filled by qualified H1B visa holders?

Its a Legal program since 1990

Its only a problem because........

WAIT FOR IT.

TRUMP

The problem is, there’s a rumor going around that asserts that 7-Eleven clerks are brought in under H-1B. Has such an assertion be debunked?
Trump brings in foreign workers each year on non agricultural visas.....here is just one for 22 Cooks.... Those are jobs Americans can do. So are the waitors, and front desk clerks, housekeeping that he imports these foreigners to do, who are indentured servants more or less, instead of Americans who can most certainly do the job....shoot, I've worked a few of them when really young, myself.

it's never been about the visas. It's been about illegal aliens. ILLEGALS

Its a Legal program since 1990

Its only a problem because........

WAIT FOR IT.

TRUMP
Not surprisingly, you're confused. It's a problem because it represents a fissure in MAGAland. If you think this is the last time members of the trump admin will be openly, viscerally at odds with each other over the direction trumpery should take, think again.

Last I looked Trump is the elected president.
That's quickly becoming the new nothingburger. Division in the ranks, abject idiocy, obscenely stupid cabinet picks, failures to get the budget ceiling eliminated and cabinet nominees appointed without confirmations............the buffoonery has begun in earnest so the way to gloss over it is "trump won." You already sound pathetic.

Division in the ranks, abject idiocy, obscenely stupid cabinet picks, failures to get the budget ceiling eliminated and cabinet nominees appointed without confirmations............the buffoonery has begun in earnest so the way to gloss over it is "trump won." You already sound pathetic.
no, that's propaganda of the losers. thanks though. See, we aren't conned.

It isn't important. Last I looked Trump is the elected president. You remain confused as always. It's never been about h-1B visas, it's been about illegal aliens. you're just another demofk lost in TDS.
Nuthin' Fancy , you disagree that trump is the elected president? who is then?

Not surprisingly, you're confused. It's a problem because it represents a fissure in MAGAland. If you think this is the last time members of the trump admin will be openly, viscerally at odds with each other over the direction trumpery should take, think again.
ahhhhh, look at the miniscule propagandist!!!

So the billionaire who has fleeced millions of dollars from working Americans for donations to fund his legal defense is keeping native born citizens from working at his hotels because he likes cheap labor. Imagine my surprise.
