Trump solved the Global Warming crisis while simultaneously making USA a net exporter of oil. MAGA!

Pretty dumb. Sea levels are rising and there is no stopping it. It's ok wait till people in Florida, the East Coast and the Gulf Coast have their house flood insurance triple then triple again. They'll get the message. The free market will take care of it.

They said the Global Warming Crisis was going to kill us off. Now, the threat has been alleviated while drastically increasing our production of fossil fuels and making the USA a net exporter of oil.

LOL...America is a net exporter of oil? Where the hell did you read that...Breitbart? Shit...are Trumpbots gullible.

U.S. Total Crude Oil and Products Imports

So I suppose America is importing 279,000,000 barrels of oil EVERY MONTH just for the fun of it?
America imports almost 4 TIMES as much oil as she exports.

Technically, an exporter of oil and refined fuels.

Al Gore created the problem and Trump solved it. That pretty much sums up the difference between the leftists and the conservatives.

Yet another case of leftists being clueless about how things work.. Yes America is now a NET exporter of oil.. Does not mean we don't import a shit load of it.. But since you don't understand how fungible oil is and WHAT WE DO with those imports --- I'll explain it very slowly...

First --- we import a lot of oil to REFINE IT into various products and then turn around and exports those products. Like gas, jet fuel, kerosene, diesel, etc...

Second, we import oil on a global market.. With AMERICAN companies overseas doing the drilling and shipping. Or we buy from the Saudis because "the price is right"... Oil RESERVES dictate how much we buy on a monthly basis largely..

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

There's a couple charts there to help you understand that nations that ARE oil producers --- even net exporters of oil -- STILL take imports...

Here's another graph showing the effect... NOTE -- this inflection point occurred EARLIER than 2018 if you count importing crude and EXPORTING refined products.. This DESPITE EVERYTHING THE OBAMA ADMIN thru in the path of becoming "energy independent".

US_net_product_imports_exports_1973_Oct2014.jpg

As for demoting GW/CChange from a national security threat -- it will save the govt agencies time and energy to produce "action plans" for a crisis that has been over-hyped and sold with fear --- not reason.. There's no reason for every branch of the DOD to have to write annual reports on GW 'readiness"..

But it doesn't much other than cut busywork funding..

The US has ALWAYS been energy independent in terms of it's ELECTRICAL generation that does NOT rely on oil.. And now with the help of the marketeers and entrenpreneurs and NO HELP from Obama, we have lowered our CO2 EMISSIONS BELOW THE pledge for Kyoto to about 1995 levels.. This is ALL because of converting to the massive CLEANER natural gas reserves that have come out of fracking and the Dakotas and Penn... And building new pipelines to get it to where it needs to be.. This ALLOWS the replacement of some coal plants.....

1) you said 'America is a net exporter of oil' - not '...oil and refined fuels'. And importing oil that she then refines and exports again is nothing to do with energy independence.
2) the article is way off. It talks about energy getting closer to 'energy independence'. America is not REMOTELY near energy independence.

America consumes almost 600 million barrels of oil per month. Even with massive fracking - whose long term viability is questionable - she only produces 367,000 barrels of oil per month.

Crude Oil Production
How much oil is consumed in the United States? - FAQ - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

America is not REMOTELY near being oil independent.

I don't know who started this 'America produces all the oil it needs' nonsense. But it is 100% bogus.

Sea level rise has been a constant rate of just less than 0.1 in/yr. In 50 years --- that might be 5 inches. Its never gonna be the 10 or 16ft that was ORIGINALLY tossed out in the 80s and 90s.. That's based on speculation about losing Antarctica and Greenland. Which is not very likely since temps in Antarctica have not changed ANYWHERE close to the Global average...

But we now know the BIGGER threat to melting Antarctica is not a couple degree temp change, but the VOLCANIC RIFTS that are being found and mapped all over that continent.. So -- technically, you could see "de-icing" events that would be TOO QUICK to react to from "down there".. Maybe over 10 years of heightened volcanic activity...

And if Florida can't cope with 5 inches of SLRise over 50 years,, they are CERTAINLY NOT READY for any 18 FOOT storm surges during hurricane season...

Hey guy...I am aware of the above (I read about halfway through and gave up as you COMPLETELY are missing my point...plus, you are known for having a big ego and going on and on about things you know less about than you think you do)...probably more then you are. All that means is America has a large energy production base. That's it.

The point is that America is NOT anywhere near being oil independent. DUH.

'This statistic shows the daily consumption of oil in the United States between 1998 and 2017. In 2017, the United States consumed approximately 19.9 million barrels of oil daily. According to the source, consumption refers to inland demand plus international aviation and marine bunkers and refinery fuel and loss; biogasoline (such as ethanol), biodiesel and derivatives of coal and natural gas are also included.'

And US oil production is less than 2/3'rds of that. And much of that is through fracking - whose long term viability is strongly in doubt.

Nope.. You're STILL stone stupid to ignore the WSJ and Bloomberg and anyone that ought to know how to read the numbers...

You MANGLE numbers. You say terms like "what we use".. But that does not describe the process of IMPORTING OIL that AMERICAN CONSUMERS never use and which goes RIGHT BACK OUT on boats as refined products. There's about 50 nations -- MANY of them even oil rich -- that HAVE no refinery capacity and depend solely on us.. That's a LOT of "what we use" as a NATION but do not CONSUME domestically.

Before you embarrass your ass further, you should stop googling numbers and go back and READ the WSJ and Bloomberg links that I and others have given you...

There is a GRAPH in the Bloomberg link that shows US OIL IMPORTS dropping from 14Mill bar to less than 2 or 4Mill Bar over the past 10 years.. And the time that it past NET export was about Nov/Dec of last year....

And no, oil ignoramus, most countries that produce a lot of oil do NOT import much of it.

Country Comparison :: Crude oil - imports — The World Factbook - Central Intelligence Agency

Saudi Arabia imports...NONE.
Venezuela imports...NONE.
Qatar, Mexico, Iraq, Iran, Libya...all import NONE.

In fact, America imports more oil than all strong oil producing nations combined.

Your theory is total nonsense.

The PRIMARY reason BY LIGHT YEARS America imports SO much oil is because she needs it. Secondarily, because she has huge oil refinement facilities so she makes a boat load refining it for other people (like Canada).

Try more learning and less blindly believing whatever your Trumpbot ears want to hear and you won't make such ridiculously ignorant statements on things.

But America is not remotely near being oil self-sufficient. Only ignorant people (read - mostly Trumpbots) think otherwise.

NOW we are done.

And don't bother replying to me on this - I ain't wasting my time reading it (just like I did not read the second reply you made to me above).

No, Al Gore didn't invent global warming. He just turned it into a partisan issue.

Crude oil monthly import Dec 2018 about 220 million barrels

U.S. Total Crude Oil and Products Imports

Crude oil monthly export Dec 2018 about 75 million barrel.

U.S. Exports of Crude Oil (Thousand Barrels per Day)

If you check the refined product we export, it was about double the amount of crude we export and that was in Dec. I'm sure it's gone up again. The 40 year ban was revoked in 2016 allowing refiners to export again. Is that a good thing, selling off our reserves? It is for the refineries right now.
