WASHINGTON—President Trump has put the brakes on a law that forbids U.S. companies from bribing foreign officials to win business.

Trump on Monday signed an executive order aimed at the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, a 47-year-old statute that has been used to punish overseas misconduct at banks such as Goldman Sachs and mining giants such as Glencore. The president’s directive asked for “revised, reasonable enforcement guidelines” from the Justice Department that won’t hamper American firms competing abroad, according to a statement from the White House.

The law puts U.S. firms at a disadvantage to overseas rivals because they cannot engage in practices that are “common among international competitors,” the White House said. Excessive enforcement also crimps the president’s authority to conduct foreign affairs, the White House said.

So the same President that says court orders may not apply to him, says that US Companies can bribe foreign leaders. Trump also said this anti-bribery law crimps his ability to conduct foreign policy whatever that means.

What a surprise! A convicted felon is pro-bribery. Who could have guessed!

So the same President that says court orders may not apply to him, says that US Companies can bribe foreign leaders. For some reason, Trump also said this anti-bribery law crimps his ability to conduct foreign policy.

Do you honestly think that private companies don't use base bribery in everyday business? Your naivete is unbelievable. How do you think the end cap space and eye-level shelving is doled out in your grocery store? Every piece of preferential treatment in any business is the result of bribery.

You guys ph uked over a fair percentage of the population with inflation that did not have to be. At least at what we have seen. You said nothing for 4 years. The summer of Joe's first year it was apparent. And you laughed and called people names and smeared them. Remember, Progs told us they knew everything. Their answers were antiseptic, and Joe promised us pure unity.

Trump is correct. It's something Neo-Marxist Democrats use daily either to receive or dispense depending on the time of the day or the aim of the Democrat.

Giving gifts to those in the business world is how you win contracts.
