While this is going to create a feeding frenzy among our lib friends, I am going to go rogue on the election. In the space of an hour this morning I watched three segments that just reenforced my aggravation with the effort to beat Clinton. The republicans ran one of their best ads ever this cycle about Hilary calling trump supporters deplorable and irredeemables. The problem: not one black or Hispanic. Next I had to listen to trump whining about if he loses it will be the biggest waste of his time and money ever. Now we have 25 republican members of congress coming out publicly one month before the election saying no way will, they support the nominee. and now I just heard that one of reagans children said Nancy would vote for Hilary. at some point you have to realize that without siege machines you are not going to scale the castle walls.
I am all in for trump. He has to be all in for me. If he is going to muse about the waste of time if he loses he is going to lose bigger. It's not about you, it's about the American people. If you don't feel our pain you ain't going to be our leader. Nobody is going to have sympathy for a whining billionaire. Add that to the piling up negatives, some deserved most not and you have a campaign with bad body language. So lets assess what the goals of,those supporting trump are. Change the system, Supreme Court, jobs, root out corruption, straighten out immigration, make America great again. None of that will happen if Hilary is elected. So now we have a guy not so hep on losing a presidential election with a huge ego. What to do?
Here is what I would do. On Sunday night when the debate starts, trump should say he has an announcement to make. He should say that he is stepping down for the good of the country to give the people the greatest chance of beating Hilary Clinton. He should say that his choice for Vice President has proven himself to be an able leader and president. He should say he is going to campaign just as hard for pence as he was for himself, but that his honesty and blunt style are sometimes a liability in politics. That republicans have to defeat Hilary Clinton at all costs to save our country, and all along I have wanted to do what's best for my country. He should then walk off the stage and let pence debate Hilary.
So what would be the effect of all this. First trump would have done something never done before. He would be in the spotlight making headlines everywhere. He would gain a huuuuuuuge amount of respect. The Republican Party would instantly gel around pence and the donation dam would break flooding the republican committee with dollars. The news media would be talking about nothing else. Hilary's campaign would be caught off guard. Pence would be everything Clinton is not and would go on to victory in November.
I know I am going to hear, yeah trump can claim political bankruptcy or you are a traitor, that is fine. I will be voting for whoever the republican nominee is irregardless. I want what is best for America and Hilary Clinton ain't it. But republicans had better coalesce around the anti Hilary if they have any hope of keeping their jobs in the future. Hey Donald, it's all about winning.
