There is no reason whatsoever for European manufacturing to abandon the Continent because renewable energy is cheaper there than fossil fuels. The assertion makes no sense at all.

Green energy is cheaper. Europe is moving aggressively ahead in developing both renewable energy and large scale battery storage (something that I susspect you know very little about). In fact, European companies are building battery farms fed by renewables all over the world, including the United States.

It will be necessary to depend on fossil fuels to feed the short term energy needs of the AI industry. But we will be at a serious economic disadvantage if the rest of the industrialized world has more stable and cheaper energy sources than oil.

After the Ukraine invasion, and the price shocks that followed, no one in the EU is anxious to stay on the oil teat.
