President Donald Trump said Monday that Republicans should nationalize elections, continuing to double down on false conspiracy theories about widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. He also nodded to the FBI’s raid in Fulton County, Georgia, teasing that “you’re going to see some interesting things come out” in Georgia.

Dozens of challenges to the results of that election yielded no credible evidence of widespread voter fraud, and both a statewide audit and a recount requested by the Trump campaign verified that former President Joe Biden won the state.

Can you hear that cell door closing donny?

Blue States cheat. I see his point.

Blacks and Hispanics are too stupid and poor to get IDS….SO NO IDS TO VOTE.

What if Red States made it so you have to have a job to vote?

Blue states would cry.

No voter ID is only about cheating.

Bring in 20 million illegals.
Obstruct deportation
No ID to vote

THE DEM PLAN IS NOT COMPLEX.

Republicans were opposed to nationalization of elections for decades; but hey Trump wants to nationalize election, so here comes the flip flop. Of course with Trump it is about the grift and the steal. Nationalize elections and it will be far easier to cancel elections and manipulate the vote; the MAGA wet dream.

Just what all conservatives should want, more power for the Federal government. It would be easier for Trump to put one finger on the scale than have to put 50 of them.

Just national baselines. The world is influencing your elections and bad.outcomes.can have real.global consequences (such as millions dead in the Russian attack on Ukraine)

What would nationalizing elections entail? Just the major points please.
Mr. Trump’s remarkable call for a political party to seize the mechanisms of voting follows a string of moves from his administration to try to exert more control over American elections, as he and his allies continue to make false claims about his 2020 defeat.

Last week, F.B.I. agents seized ballots and other voting records from the 2020 election from an election center in Fulton County, Ga., where his allies have for years pursued false claims of election fraud. The New York Times reported on Monday that Mr. Trump had spoken on the phone to the F.B.I. agents involved in the Fulton County raid, praising and thanking them.

The Justice Department, which has been newly politicized under Mr. Trump, is demanding that numerous states, including Minnesota, turn over their full voter rolls as the Trump administration tries to build a national voter file.

In March, Mr. Trump signed an executive order that tried to make significant changes to the electoral process, including requiring documentary proof of citizenship and demanding that all mail ballots be received by the time polls close on Election Day. But that effort has largely been rebuffed by courts.

On social media, Mr. Trump has pushed for even more drastic changes. In August, he wrote that he wanted to end the use of mail-in ballots and potentially the use of voting machines.

Taking control of state elections would essentially mean trying to advantage Repub candidates in any way possible. Doing what he has made false accusations about. Rigging the system. It is without doubt the most grave threat to our democracy he poses.

What you are in reality is...everyone sucks on the tit party. Unfortunately, that is much more than 100% of the economic output to pay for it. In another universe, it would be total destruction of civilization.

The worse it looks for R's in the midterms the greater the desire by trump to rig the elections. If D's take the House it doesn't mean an onslaught of legislation blocking trump's agenda. They don't have the votes in Congress and any bill would get vetoed. Besides, trump isn't passing bills in order to govern..........he's doing it by executive fiat.

What it does mean is regime officials being subpoenaed, the actions of the regime being investigated, and the fortune trump has made while prez being scrutinized.

Also, an end to any chance of harmful legislation getting passed. Like nationalizing elections.

Trump Administration Quietly Seeks to Build National Voter Roll

The Justice Department is compiling the largest set of national voter roll data it has ever collected, buttressing an effort by President Trump and his supporters to try to prove long-running, unsubstantiated claims that droves of undocumented immigrants have voted illegally, according to people familiar with the matter.

The effort to essentially establish a national voting database, involving more than 30 states, has elicited serious concerns among voting rights experts because it is led by allies of the president, who as recently as this January refused to acknowledge Joseph R. Biden Jr. fairly won the 2020 election. It has also raised worries that those same officials could use the data to revive lies of a stolen election, or try to discredit future election results.

The initiative has proceeded along two tracks, one at the Justice Department’s civil rights division and another at its criminal division, seeking data about individual voters across the country, including names and addresses, in a move that experts say may violate the law. It is a significant break from decades of practice by Republican and Democratic administrations, which believed that doing so was federal overreach and ripe for abuse.

“Nobody has ever done anything like this,” said Justin Levitt, an election law expert at Loyola Marymount University’s law school and a former Justice Department official.

Trump: ‘We should take over the voting’

President Donald Trump urged Republicans to seize control of elections and place voting under national authority Monday — one of his most explicit signals yet that he plans to interfere with the workings of democracy.

In a radio interview on The Dan Bongino Show, Trump framed voting itself as corrupt, claimed elections were stolen from him and argued that Republicans should take over how ballots are cast and counted.

This is being done under cover of the constantly swirling chaos the regime has created.

Everybody seems to forget that the reason he ran for office again was to stay out of prison. He's now in full desperation mode.

What I was looking for was answers to the following questions:

We still have an election day on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November right?
The counties in the respective states (or parishes in Louisiana) still count the votes, right?
Winners are announed by the Secretary of State’s office, right?

I don’t know what is meant by “nationalizing”.... If you’re talking about standardized federal rules for elections that seems like something that could possibly be beneficial as long as it casts the net wide and allows for early voting, no excuse absentee voting, mail in balloting, etc... decided via national referendum.

I, for one, would like to see the Social Security card come with a photo and be our national lD card. As long as it’s free of charge and is good for an extended period of time (25 years or so), thats fine with me and you’d show it when you register to vote.

All of that being said, the blob’s administration is, easily, the most corrupt that anyone alive has seen on a day-to-day basis. Nixon was corrupt as hell in many matters but it was not exactly a daily re-enactment of the Gallagher family in Shameless as the Trump administration has become. Clearly, they would not be talking about nationalization if it wasn’t some fairly transparent plot to gain an advantage.

In the sober light of day after the blob has oozed off the national stage, some standardization may worth looking into.

Wow, what a statement that has absolutely no proof behind it (all opinion).

Having said that, the biggest cheater (proven) in the U.S. is Trump and to give him powers to affect the elections in the way he would like it to be, is to allow a dictator to tell you what to do and how to do it, no matter if it is against the Constitution and the rights to vote.

Trump wants to "nationalize" the elections but it is 100% against the Constitution and if you agree with Trump, you are not only being a traitor to this nation, but an idiot allowing one narcissistic pathological liar that is only interested in his own glory and feeding his ego to have you do what he wants.

Here is the part of Article 1 of the Constitution that is 100% against nationalizing voting:

The Elections Clause is the primary source of constitutional authority to regulate elections for the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. The Clause directs and empowers states to determine the “Times, Places, and Manner” of congressional elections, subject to Congress’s authority to “make or alter” state regulations. It grants each level of government the authority to enact a complete code for such elections, including rules concerning public notices, voter registration, voter protection, fraud prevention, vote counting, and determination of election results.

The short answer is the federal government, meaning trump, would control how elections are conducted. Usurping that authority from the states. Being that he is engaged in an effort to gerrymander districts in R's favor, wants to end mail-in ballots, wants to suppress voting by various means, is still fomenting lies about virtually non-existent fraud, and has floated the question "why have elections at all," hopefully you can see why the states should remain in control the way they conduct their elections. As intended by the Founders and stated in the Constitution.

Cuz, as we all know, voter fraud is statistically miniscule in the US.

No. Actually we don't know that at all.
I think the 2020 election was a complete fraud, for instance. And these wonderful voting machines we have ... it's been proven they can be hacked.
So, no ... I don't think voter fraud is miniscule at all.
