Trump says "Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed" after speaking to Putin and Zelenskyy

President Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin. CBS News' Willie James Inman reports.

President Donald Trump said that he just had a "good and very productive telephone call" with Russian President Vladimir Putin, shortly before Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prepared to meet in Florida Sunday.

"I just had a good and very productive telephone call with President Putin of Russia prior to my meeting, at 1:00 P.M. today, with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine," Trump wrote on social media, in part.

The Kremlin later confirmed that the call had taken place, according to Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.


I am wondering if trump heard the word, secede, and thought Vlad said succeed. And Putin is so interested in Ukraine "succeeding" that he is bombing them into oblivion. All the while our president is playing word games with his pal in the Kremlin.

Are you starting to get the feeling that Ukraine is fighting a war against Russia and the United States? It sure seems like it.
