There is a high probability, mathematically, that the percentage of deaths due to Fentanyl is closely linked to the supplying country. So, with Mexico supplying approximately 90+% of fentanyl coming into the country, it stands to reason, the figure you seek is much closer to 225,000, than 5 or 10 thousand. Why do you ask? Are you wanting trump to start a war on Mexico?

I believe that ANY country shipping this drug into out country is doing so, knowing that it will kill a large percentage of those who take it, knowingly, or not. Therefore, it is, in my mind, an act of war. Whether it is the Cartel's of Mexico, or the Cartel's in Venezuela, they are using drugs to kill our citizens. Therefore, I support the President if he decides to go after these Cartel's ability to manufacture, transport, and deliver to the United States these drugs, it is justified, because I believe the Cartel's are committing an act of war against the United States. Taken at face value, what's the precedent of applying this criteria to other countries, as a pretext for hot military action?

I guess we'd find out the day we start shipping boatloads of narcotics to other countries. Of course, Maduro always has the choice of just stopping the drug runs or to send armed naval ships and aircraft along with each boat and defend them against our forces.

The War Powers Act is more complicated than that... and it would still be a violation to attack Venezuela without a just cause, which Trump doesn't have.
