8-10 speed transmissions that are failing across all manufacturers.
Active fuel management.



All that tech to save a couple miles per gallon so the manufacturers don't get fined for providing exactly what the consumer wants.
It all adds thousands to the price of vehicles along with mandatory nanny features that most owners shut off or permanently bypass.

Twin turbos have always been known also for headgasket failures if the engine isn't designed good enough to handle the heat and higher combustion chamber pressures.
Lots of complaints about Hondas 1.5 that powers a lot of their cars.
If the turbos fail, that's also a few grand to fix.

Glad I picked up one of Toyotas last naturally aspirated 5.7 Tundras used a couple years ago. I will be holding on to that truck till the bitter end.
Two years driving it and adding 45,000 miles and the truck is selling online for what I paid when purchased. They are holding value because the new trucks are failing and there is a sudden demand for used v8 trucks. The prices are nuts.
Even Ram is bringing back the 5.7 Hemi after losing sales with their TT6.

Democrats tried to make you switch. Republicans rescinded it. The market corrected itself. My son bought incandescent bulbs for his ceiling fan when we were out shopping yesterday. He prefers them because of their shape needed and that's the only reason. Every other light in his house and mine are LEDs, except a few old fluorescents that still work in my kitchen that still work.
