Trump & Republicans embracing "Deficits Don’t Matter" as they agree to pass the BBB Explode Deficit Spending!

The US Is About to Discover if Deficits Don’t Matter

Donald Trump: Deficits Don’t Matter

“Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter,” Vice President Dick Cheney said when the Bush administration sought a second round of tax cuts in 2003. This fits with a rich tradition of conservative tax-cutters abandoning deficit hawkery when they want to hand money to favored groups. But some economists agree with Cheney that deficits don’t matter—at least not as much as more jobs and prosperity for all—and their views are getting newfound attention because of an offhand comment by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Trump is sending congress suggestions for spending cuts... look... you can't make cuts that hurt people... and that is top of mind... so some hard line deficit hawks now want to block this... where were they as the deficit kept growing...

Nobody cares about them.

The left or right.

And we are paying over 1 trillion just in interest.

Biden's last Budget had a $1.7T annual deficit.

Trump-47's first budget will have no more than the "House budget" version, a $380b annual deficit. That is a $1.3T deficit cut.

The senate version may have a surplus, we'll see.

The gig is up. Balance the budget, Personally, I think if it wasn't for kickback schemes, we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe we need the FBI to investigate congress.

I think it stems from the projected growth of passing the BBB which is substantial.

That said, give congress more revenue and they will spend it.....Everyone wants a 4B bridge like The Turtle extorted in the so-called Infrastructure Bill.

You know, the one passed under FJB where we got eight EV charging stations while FAA/ATC were/are still using floppy disks.....And what about those hundreds of billions for Rural Internet that nobody has seen yet!

More than twenty years ago Cheney told a dem senator claiming about the deficit to "**** off."

Nothing has changed.

Trumps last budget before COVID was almost 1 Trillion.

Biden is not a good comparison as I expect him to be super lousy (and he was).

Trump Budget #1<Budget#2<Budget#3

Trump didn't say a word during the debate about the national debt. I was disgusted.

I voted for him and I don't expect him to do anything about it.

I would totally crap in my pants if we got a surplus budget.

or it would be.

You can blame most of this on GWB.

He was projected to have a budget surplus enough to pay off the then 5 trillion in debt.

Instead he cut taxes and went to war.

I could not be in the same room with that idiot and not want to drive his nose into the back of his tiny brain.

Cheney was an idiot and an asshole. His boss was an idiot and an asshole too even though he was a gentleman and a nice guy sometime. GWB should thank God that super idiots and racists like Obama and Biden came along and made him look better.

He might, but I don't.

The three of them have created a huge hole for us.

And Trump is adding to it.

something HAS changed, and it's the SIZE OF THE DEBT which is made up by yearly deficits. In Trump's first term, the gop tried to face this with the 2017 cuts they claimed would "grow" the economy enough so the debt/gnp ratio was affordable, which would mean could we cover debt interest AND fund everything else. We CAN"T do that because the economy didn't grow any faster with the tax cuts that it had without them, AND the progs spent a lotta debt dollars. Some when to actually building stuff like water treatment or roads ... and a lot went to paying people not to work.

You cling to your racism, do you not?

Trump is pushing for Fannie & Freddy to become publicly traded GSE's again to privatize gains & increase unfunded liabilities to stealthily increase deficit that will explode to bail them out again.
