Trump Entertainment Resorts and its predecessors filed for bankruptcy four times between 1991 and 2014. These filings were associated with the "Trump Taj Mahal", "Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino", and "Trump Castle Hotel and Casino".

A casino has generally been viewed as a license to print money, so losing money on casino operations would be very difficult to do. But everything else that is attached to the casino, most frequently a hotel/resort and related businesses, can easily eat up profits and then some if not handled sensibly
