His polling numbers need to be understood in a context unique to the Orange Menace. Polls differ in their results but the latest consensus numbers indicate less than 40% of the country approves of the grifter's job performance.Polling just keeps getting worse and worse for Trump. And every time he violates laws or cuts cancer research or wants to deport a 4 year old girl with cancer his approval goes down.

That fact takes on a different kind of significance when one considers the unmovable support of his cult following. Again, we can quibble over the exact numbers but best guess somewhere between 25-30% of Americans are blindly devoted to him irrespective of his actual job performance. Meaning that of the people who are persuadable, who judge him based on how he's doing the job of being POTUS, his numbers are worse than they appear at first blush.
Think of it this way. Let's say you have 100 people being asked about which soda pop they prefer, Coke or Pepsi. But 30 of those people are so committed to Pepsi that even if the Pepsi sample they try tastes like cat piss they will say they prefer it over Coke. It kinda skews the result.

that's the case every election cycle. For you to think you have a handle on any race is hilarious.Unless and until Republicans step away from Trump… they’ll be dragged down by his numbers
