I think there is a lot more to it than what we are hearing from the media, even the more right leaning like Fox News. I'm reading that if the truth about the funding to the Ukraine was honestly made public, both political parties would disintegrate.

Since I don't know any details, I have no opinion on that, but what the media allows you to see should not be assumed to be all there is to see.

Let me show you Trump actually talking to Bret Baier.

Honestly readers, I am not able to do more than speak up. Trump will walk into failure and later we must be who makes excuses for him. What will we do when he fails?

My position has been clear from the beginning. This is a regional conflict and has nothing to do with the US, our taxpayer $$$, or our young people. We should take a mediation stance--nothing more. It has been posted here that Russia has had claim to the area (east of the Dnieper River and Crimea since the 1700s. This doesn't seem to be a new aggression and it was treated that way in 2014 when Obama allowed Putin to take Crimea without a shot being fired. Zelensky was emboldened by Biden and had as much to do with the hostilities as Putin did. I don't think the contested area will ever be returned to Ukraine. The US should broker a peace agreement and nothing more. No support to either side. Total neutrality.

Yes I saw most of that. I see a President who is walking a very fine tight rope in negotiations and has to be careful what he says. He was clear about why he didn't go to Turkey and because he didn't, Putin didn't.

He didn't say anything about Zelensky that hasn't already been widely publicized. He expressed concerns about the lack of accountability of funding provided to the Ukraine. Somebody really REALLY needs to be concerned about that.

And yes he did try to divert the discussion to what he thought needed to be talked about other than Russia/Ukraine.

I don't have a problem with it at this point. Only the person in negotiations like that should know exactly what can and cannot be said without screwing up a potential deal.

I know what he says. I also believe he hates Zelensky and prefers Putin and that is tragic. Think this over given our media hates Trump. Trump hands our media the knife and dares the media to stab him.

I can appreciate all of that. I have defended Trump now for 8.5 years. And his mouth yapping has sure done him a huge disservice. I will never ever vote for a Democrat so we are stuck on the rock we call Trump.

I think he has probably got more sense than anybody we've had in a leadership position in a very long time. Again, given his track record in things like this, I'm giving him every benefit of the doubt.
