The Trump administration has ordered climate recording satellites shut down. Fortunately, there are other nations with sane leaders that have satellites we can get data from. Just more of the Trump admin trying to kill evidence concerning their lies about climate.

The 2014 satellite put up by the homO Administration is easily outed as fraudulent by the Navy, the Air Force, the CIA, and/or FBI, take your pick...

do you know the difference between "has ordered", and "may order"?

(doesn't look like it)

Hoax satellites....I wonder if they can be repurposed to spy on dems.

If there are more than two of them together you know they are up to something that is not good for the Republic. ;)

Actually they were satellites that have been shown to be past usefulness and redundant as there is the AIRS set up that is more important and used by scientists.

OCO Satellites: Fancy Tools, Empty Pockets

Guest Post by Willis Eschenbach

Excerpt:

One of the most reliable tells in the climate shell game is a government program with a name that promises “carbon” and delivers something suspiciously less concrete. Enter the OCO satellites—Orbiting Carbon Observatories, which, right off the bat, don’t actually measure “carbon.” They measure CO₂. It’s like opening a box labeled “Mystery Steak” and finding tofu.

If you want a tale of cosmic hubris stitched to pure bureaucratic ambition, look no further than NASA’s Orbiting Carbon Observatory satellites—OCO by name, not by actual carbon content. These polished tin cans were launched to spy on atmospheric CO₂ from space, the latest chapter in humanity’s endless fantasy that, if we just measure nature sharply enough, we might finally drag the carbon cycle kicking and screaming under bureaucratic control.

Old Socks thinks that bankrupt nations can and should continue with unecessary expenditure .
Typical idealistic clap trap you hear from insane and selfish people.

Plenty of other countries will have the same data which they will happily share ,

A ZERO RATED TOPIC

Could you imagine still using a phone or laptop from 2014?

CO2 that stuff that plants breath.

More on the Trump idiocy concerning the satellites;

Really did you bother to read the link, here is a section that makes clear why it isn't worth the money:

Together, the OCO-2, a freestanding satellite, and OCO-3, which is mounted on the International Space Station, measure the composition of the Earth’s atmosphere, specifically sniffing out climate pollution.

The OCO missions are particularly useful for tracking fossil fuel and ecosystem-related emissions, scientists told CNN. The instruments also help scientists monitor plant productivity — critical for farmers and the researchers studying forest loss.

We already have a better satellite in use that does all this with greater accuracy I already brought it up and there are published papers on it while Europe has a similar satellite producing data that is available and it is superior too.

The OCO satellite family is redundant and second rate compared to better satellites that does similar and better.

As usual your TDS mentality clouds your head.

Can you imagine still getting new information from a satellite launched in 1977?
Voyager 1 & 2 have the approximate computing power of a hand calculator. If we could swap them out with what we have now we would get far better data.

OTOH, a 2014 satellite orbiting the planet in 2025 is obsolete and infinitely easier to replace.

The US has 17 weather satellites in space.

These satellites really aren't producing any information of any use, except maybe to confirm the Keeling Curve ... I think maybe they aren't telling us what we want to know, so we should probably ditch them ... or sell them to a state agency, California could certainly afford operating them ... almost all the cost is getting the satellite into orbit, the rest is profit ...

GOES weather satellites operate at the same wavelengths ... which I thought was odd ... Band 5 and Band 6 are stated as measures of ice/snow and cloud particles ... not CO2 detection ... smells like a hoax to me but who am I to judge ... [giggle] ... right? ...

Do the Chinese pay any attention to the data from these satellites?

It's crazy! I know, especially when the satellite data conclusively shows that mankind has no impact on global CO2. The high output is exclusively from equatorial rain forests
