Tech stocks have been sliding lately. Don't expect this to alleviate the situation.
President Donald Trump suggested he could place a 10 percent tariff on iPhones and laptops imported from China, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal published Monday.
Trump suggests US could slap 10% tariffs on iPhones and laptops imported from China
I hope he tries. Few people understand because few people see the tax breaks for the wealthy that he gave them and the deficit it spawned which is now a Trillion dollars a year is a direct result of it. These are important but they are just minutia. Make someone's replacement phone cost 70-100 dollars more and it may finally dawn on the hate-belt that the blob isn't on their side.
Think of all the taxes Apple gets to evade by using Chinese slave labor. The left favor giving these corporations tax breaks. If they had manufacturing here, all those workers would be taxed here, and making fair wages.
The really moronic thing is that the blob seems to think that the US Market is enough to lure Apple to set up shop here....

The overseas market is much more lucrative and much less saturated than the US. They'll happily absorb the tariff, charge the US consumers more and never think twice about it. At worst, the tariffs are a 6 year proposition going forward. By the time they set up manufacturing, trained workers, etc... it would be time to shutter the plant and forget the blob ever happened; Lord knows we all will be happy when he oozes out of the White House too.
