I guess it depends on how one defines winning. If hurting the economies of our trading partners while shifting some of the cost of the tariffs on to US consumers is winning......chalk one up for the King of Debt.
From the reading I've done there is no sign yet of anything close to a significant number of manufacturing jobs coming back to the US as a result of the tariffs. And while EU countries no doubt feel relieved that the worst was averted there is also the lingering effect of their efforts to bolster trade with other parts of the world. Ones that will not hold them hostage to the whims of reckless leadership there.
