Ain't nothin' wrong with wrasslin'.
We knew a lot of the moves and used to act 'em out in convenience stores.
Chest slams, bodyslams, the "backbreaker" as a finisher. Then bow. :auiqs.jpg:
Good times.

Wrestling II was invited to, but declined to attend Carter's inauguration in 1977, after he was told that he would have to remove his mask at the event.

The wrestling code prohibited Two from doing that, so he had no choice but to decline.

Wrestling is fake and stupid, let's be honest. I haven't watched a new match in literally many, many years. It's funny thinking back, isn't it? As an entertainment vehicle it works.

That said as I kid I loved it like few others. Especially the Hulk Hogan years. I knew all of the names, had some of the figurines and even trading cards. I still even remember the stats, I still remember the record headline in the sports pages when Wrestle Mania III was at the Silverdome. I watched one Wrestlemania event via the old SkyDome jumbotron.

Thus, I don't have any ill will for those who follow fake wrestling today. It's dumb at it's core, like watching a soap opera for men. In my time when I was a kid, it was the best and fun as hell lol. Hogan beating the Shiek, facing off with Volkov and The Iron Shiek, facing the Giant, telling us to eat our vitamins and say our prayers. That propaganda worked on us.

The retired athletes from that time, today still give the best interviews. They don't hold back or are shy about who they call out. Far more interesting than the average athletes in real, true competitive sports.

When I was a kid, the world champion was Bruno Sammartino. No one ever gave a better interview than did Bruno. When he said he was going to give some miscreant the beating he so sorely deserves, you wanted to go out and buy a ticket to the event. A lot of people in my generation and older may not have believed that wrestling was legit as a general principle. But they still thought Sammartino was on the up and up.

I remember Bruno, he had one of those names that sort of.rolled off the tongue. It's funny how some guys just wrestle under their name ,no flash or.glitter.
