In a Republic, actually
“Government agencies with staff who are recruited by merit play a vital role ensuring the safety of our food, air and water; maintaining the value of our currency; resolving legal disputes peacefully; and defending our national security. We rarely pay attention to the everyday work of government bureaucrats, but without them, we would be in grave danger.

When Mr. Trump and his cronies declare that they will destroy the deep state, it’s really the modern state — the state that supports the foundations of both public and private life — that they have in mind.

Once we view the matter from this perspective, it’s much easier to understand why Mr. Trump invited Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to drastically downsize the American state. In reality, though, government will not be downsized; it will be repurposed. Like Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Hungary’s Viktor Orban and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, Mr. Trump aims not to streamline modern state bureaucracies, but rather to replace them with a much older form of rule based on personal loyalty to the ruler.”

This will be the Trump ‘administration,’ staffed with incompetents and cronies who have contempt for sound, responsible governance – loyal to only to Trump, not the Constitution, not the rule of law, and not the American people.

Trump excels at tearing things down
He makes no attempt to rebuild better than what he found

Trump, Tesla Boy and Rammysalami look at government as an impediment to them doing what they want.
Tearing it down and creating chaos is preferable to analyzing government and making it better

Would have been a bit more conducive to discussion if you listed a few of the "systems" you believe he's "dismantling." Oh well.

Everything democrats have done needs to be torn down. Burn the rubble and mix the ash with salt.

If you spend too much, you have to cut back.
Get the overspending under control and maybe then we can consider these debatably unnecessary government bureaucracies.

Creating more tax payer funded jobs so bureaucrats children and relatives have a good quality of life with no accountability, while those same bureaucrats pat themselves on the back about what they built and the jobs they created, is important to the Democrats and RINOs.

Don't worry we can always print up more money, and drive inflation up, to pay for it.
