No politician, in the short run, is going to do anything to improve anyone's life although they can sure make things more miserable, with things like lockdowns. But, long term, that's a different story. Trump closing the border and attempting to bring back manufacturing jobs to this country will make us a better country in a decade or two.

Not many. Closing the border and stopping millions of future democratic voters - whose vote will dilute American citizen's votes is a win. It should also bring down housing prices and increase housing supply - that's another win, long term.
