Cassidy votes to impeach trump in 2020

Now he is being run out of office on a rail

Finishes 3rd in repub primary
Impeachment threshold was not met and he surely knew it. Remember Liz Cheney's record loss in Wyoming?

Trumps influence within the GOP remains generally strong, the problem is that his loss of Independents and the young are very difficult to overcome in the midterms.

The courts did not do him a favour with their decision on tariffs. A decision that still does not make sense to me. It would have allowed Trump to provide a check to all Americans and ensured they understood their own skin in the game. Perhaps the courts did not want the government to send that message as tariffs would be popular for years to follow.

I think Trump got off track and chose battles he didn't need to choose. This may have derailed his entire second term.

If he can win in Iran and get gas prices down, push the SAVE Act, his second term will be back on track.

The Iranian people must be free and Iran must not get a nuke, I agree with Trump there. He needed CIA involvement there with a certain outcome to overthrow the government though.

He signed his political death warrant when he voted to convict Trump in February 2021. It was the right thing to do, but he should have known that there was no recovering from that.

President Trump wasn't convicted. He was impeached by the House of Representatives for "incitement of insurrection", which was BS., but on February 13, 2021, The U.S. Senate voted to acquit him with a final vote of 57-43, falling short of the two-thirds majority (67 votes) needed to convict.

And growing disaffection among women and minorities.

Understood, but Cassidy voted to convict. He ended his career in Louisiana statewide politics at that point. Maybe he could try moving to Hawaii - I hear the weather's nice.

There is no room for Republicans in the GOP.

Cassidy was an ultraliberal Republican, not mainstream at all.

If you aren't reflecting the views of the electorate, they aren't going to nominate you.

Sen. Cassidy should have switched to a party more within his own ideology like the Democrat Party or the Progressive Labor Party.

Confused, gullible people who have been bamboozled by our biased education system and media, are the ones who have abandoned Trump. I still don't think there are as many of them as our crooked establishment media says there is. People will vote in their own self-interest in November, and that means no Democrats. Communism doesn't fit this country.

Cool story bro.
