What makes her a good DHS hire?
A federal judge for10 years , knows the law , and how to deal with people fairly. But of course trump wouldn't want someone like that. Now tell me how does Mark Wayne Mullin qualify for anything that important in government ?
DHS is not a legal profession. It is a security profession. Based on her decisions so far, she is a drag not a benefit. I have not studied Mark Mullin and have no opinion on him.
Now I have studied him. He is the present DHS secretary and has been handling it well.
He rose up in Oklahoma the ladder after former Senator Inhofe quit the Senate.
He took over after Kristi "Noem got her new job.

So you believe he has enough professionalism and integrity to do the job properly ? A federal judge would be familiar with crisis management , they deal with it every day.Runnng a court would have given her strategic oversight. And most importantly , she would be able to balance operational expertise with political acumen, and remain committed to civil rights. She would not be a yes person but a person dedicated to upholding the Constitution , like the oath of that office requires. With the guy I'm sure he's a yes man with his oath strained by his loyalty to trump , not the Constitution. Is this what you really want ?

The saddest thing about abused pets like Noem is that they HAVE to keep kissing the ring until Trump leaves office, to make sure they get their pardons.

Obama is the king pin of the start of the problems. When he sicked the intelligence apparatus onto Trump in his bold move to overthrow the government.
We must include Obama. Obama was angry the intelligence agencies reported Trump had nothing to do with the Russians. Obama ordered them to change it to Trump is guilty of working with Russia. This was Obamas effort to overthrow the government.
