I never completed the degree. Too many family problems , stayed in nursing . Even now at 73 still working part-time.
oh---then you have access to trauma surgeons--(if you work in
a hospital) Try asking how many bullet holes that have STITCHED
up----or grazed ears
They don't stitch up graze wounds , they let them granulate and heal on their own.
The challenge I give everyone who wants to minimize the event is simple. Set up a shooter with a rifle 130 yards away from you and have them fire at you 8 times. Come back and tell us how minimal the experience was.

Yes and no. The only problem I had was when people exaggerated the injury and / or played trump up as a hero. Neither was true.And yes it's a horrible experience for anyone to go through. Feel a lot worse for all the children that go through this. They are the most unfortunate victims of gun violence.

(that thing hanging off the side of your head) is part of the
external ear and is not "viscus" --- Viscus is the soft mush
inside sometimes called ---"guts"
IMVO---the episode was VERY SERIOUS----a bullet to the side of
the head is VERY NERVE RACKING---too close to the middle
MENINGEAL ARTERY----which if hit to the point of a slow leak
could result in a (gasp) EPIDURAL HEMATOMA----a deadly
condition. ---that it did not hit the SPOT----is damned LUCKY.
IMVO----a near miss
And there are no guts in the upper outer ear lobe just flexible cartilage covered by skin. So we're discussing this point needless/ pointlessly. It doesn't apply in this situation.
I WAS REFERRING TO GSW in general----GSW to head sometimes penetrates the skull-----the brain is also mush---but not viscus.
GSW to the belly-----can penetrate intestine or spleen or-----any
other internal mush-----to wit VISCUS. YES---Trump was lucky---
the missile hit cartilage----nothing much to do for that----he may end up with a slightly funny looking ear.

A July 20th. Photo shows him with a sensible bandage on it. Looks like a 1" wide self adhesive strip. A Jan. 26th. Photo shows him with no dressing at all and it looks completely healed. Hardly noticeable. His mop of hair covered it up so hard to tell.
