Trump asks SCOTUS to allow profiling in California ICE raids

The deeper I go into this SCOTUS filing the dumber the Trump lawyers look.

Illegal aliens form a significant proportion of California's workforce and are especially highly concentrated in certain sectors, such as agriculture, construction, food services, and transportation. See, e.g, Bay Area Council Econ. Inst., The Economic Impact of Mass Deportation in California 24 (2025), https://www bayareacconomy.org/files/pdf/EconomiclmpactOfMassDeportation-June2025

I mean they have sourced this article, making it fair game to be used against them.

There is this,

Regionally, Greater Los Angeles and the Bay Area have the highest shares of immigrants, each at about one-third of the population, with undocumented individuals comprising around 7% of the total population.

I mean run the numbers. If they stopped every single immigrant the chance of them uncovering an illegal is ONE IN ******* FIVE. Does that make it probable? Shoot to page 24, there is a chart, percentage of illegals doing a particular job. The highest, maids and housekeepers, at 35.1%, a little better than one in three. Does that make it probable? Hell ******* no.

Then there is this,

Among the state’s 2.28 million undocumented immigrants, nearly two-thirds of the state’s undocumented population arrived in the state over a decade ago, and nearly half have been here longer than 20 years.
and this,

Because most immigrants have lived in California for long periods (Figure 4) and have extensive experience in their respective industries, they bring critical skills and knowledge to their work, despite taking on jobs often categorized as "low skilled."

I mean this is down right ridiculous. It can't be anything but racism. Look Mexican, speak Spanish, hang out at Home Depot, or work a "low skilled" job does not equal "probable cause", not even ******* close. But worse, it is just STUPID. I know you on the right think ICE is capturing gang members, murders, and of course, child rapist. That ain't happening. Sure, they get a few, but a damn blind pig finds a nut once in a while. They are arresting, and deporting, without due process, long time residents, workers, and yes, TAXPAYERS.

I am trying to come up with a simile here. I will give it a shot. One of Dad's favorite stories about me was when we first moved into the house he built in 1975. He tasked me with tilling what used to be a pasture to make space for a garden. Front tine tiller, and I was a scrawny ass 13 year old that had to run around in the shower to get wet. The ground was hard red clay. And that tiller beat the hell out of me. The contractors would be working on the house above as I was tilling that virgin ground below. Oh they laughed so hard, they were entertained as I would stop, cuss the tiller, throw hard clay chunks at it. Looking back, maybe that tiller was my mule, like Dad talked about how much he learned walking behind a mule.

But when Dad retired, well he bought a tractor, mostly for work on the two farms his parents and in laws owned. For two decades, he mulched that garden, he turned it over every spring, and today, well that old tiller runs through it like a hot knife through butter. This mass deportation thing, it is as if someone would come to Mom's, dig up all that fine fertile ground, and fill it in with red clay. What idiot would do that?

What Supreme Court cases are you thinking about?

Brignoni-Ponce v. United States (1975)
  • Citation: 422 U.S. 873
  • Issue: Use of ethnicity as a basis for stops near the border
  • Ruling: The Court ruled that officers cannot rely solely on a person’s apparent Mexican ancestry to justify a stop; they must have reasonable suspicion based on more than race.
  • Significance: Established limits on using race/ethnicity in immigration-related stops.

United States v. Montero-Camargo (9th Cir. 2000)
  • Issue: Use of Hispanic appearance near border
  • Ruling: The 9th Circuit held that Hispanic appearance alone cannot justify a stop by Border Patrol agents.
  • Impact: Reinforced limits on racial profiling in border regions.

No, I think ICE is catching illegals. That's their job.

And ICE is not detaining people solely on the basis of race.

Ditto.

I know your propagandists are telling you 24/7 that Bad Orange man is going after brown people. But that doesn't make it true.

Evidently ICE is doing just that
Stopping people based on race, language, vocation

No, I think ICE is catching illegals. That's their job.
A lot of collateral damage
But who cares as long as it only brown people being harassed ?

Man almost a dozen apples to tire irons

15th post
Lib loons don’t want illegals removed so they offer up indignation about method of capture while totally disregarding method of illegal entry
Look, if you come across the border illegally, like walking through the desert or swimming across the Rio Grande, and you have not been here even a year. Fine, get em out. But if you got here, by overstaying a Visa, or hell, I don't even care if you climbed over some dumbass fence, and you been here for TWO ******* DECADES, busting your ass, working, raising a family of AMERICAN CITIZENS, you haven't been locked up, convicted of a crime, become addicted to drugs, then I don't give a flying **** how you got here. Simple enough?

I mean at least half of the illegals in the Bay area have been here TWO ******* DECADES. I think they have earned a path to citizenship. They have developed skills, even in low skilled jobs, which is a term I absolutely despise. They have contributed to this nation. I mean send Kristi Noem down my way. I will call the Calderon's, put her ass in the tomato fields for a day. Damn what a Tik-Tok video that would make. She wouldn't make it to mid-morning.

I did. And I actually read the gvt's brief to see what they were actually arguing. Rather than take word of a progressive reporter.

Did you now? Did you see where they sourced United States v. Brignoni-Ponce? Care to discuss? What about using Profile of the Unauthorized Population: Los Angeles County, CA, I got it open in a window right now. Care to go over it?

I mean that brief is ******* laughable. If the SCOTUS overturns the California Appeals court ruling here they remove all doubt, and this Republic dies right then and there.

Evidently ICE is doing just that
Stopping people based on race, language, vocation
Which is not what the SC cases said was illegal. Did you even bother looking at them?
