If a recession happens (current estimates are a 35% to 40% chance), it won't be because Trump inherited a bad economy (in fact, while far from great, it was the strongest in the world when he inherited it). EVEN HE has admitted that the massive, ridiculously rapid disruptions his administration is causing will have caused it. So trying to blame the old and frail Biden won't work.

So let's just hope that the pain that regular Americans are feeling, and will feel, will be worth it. Either way, this will be on Trump.

Trump Won’t Deny There Could Be A Recession—Warns Of ā€˜Period Of Transition’ In Economy

ā€œSunday Morning Futuresā€ host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump whether he expected there would be a recession this year, to which Trump responded, ā€œI hate to predict things like that.ā€

ā€œThere is a period of transition, because what we’re doing is very big,ā€ Trump said about implementing his economic agenda like tariffs, adding, ā€œIt takes a little time, but I think [his agenda] should be great for us.ā€

The president also downplayed the stock market dropping over the past week in response to his tariffs, telling Bartiromo the market hadn’t gone down by ā€œmuchā€ and saying he ā€œcan’t really watch the stock marketā€ as he implements his economic policies, adding, ā€œYou can’t go by that, you have to do what’s right.ā€

Economists upped the odds of a recession this week and cited Trump’s economic policies as the ā€œkey riskā€ that could cause one, amid troubling indicators like lower consumer sentiment, mounting layoffs and the stock market’s decline, with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta projecting March 6 that the U.S.’ economic output will contract by an annualized rate of -2.4% in 2025’s first quarter.
The stock market also suffered its worst week in six months amid uncertainty over Trump’s tariffs, with Nvidia and Tesla having the biggest declines.

Well we know that no matter what happens, you’ll squeal about it and put a negative spin on everything President Trump does.

You seem to be forgetting inflation was on the rise again when Trump took office. So were gas prices, the economy was fair, but it wasn't great.

.

Of course Trump is causing a recession, to benefit his fellow billionaires.

A recession will allow the wealthy to acquire properties and companies going out of business dirt cheap; when the economy recovers, they benefit from the profit windfall.

Needless to say, Trump and his fellow billionaires couldn’t care less about average Americans suffering from a recession, losing their homes, life savings, and their jobs – as long as the wealthiest Americans benefit.

You've been in a recession for two years. From I can ascertain, most of your job creation was manufactured via debt, government employment, part time work, and/or eve illegal immigration filling jobs. Trunp will succeed if he envisions a long term objective in.returning your Middle.Class. G-d saved.him for a real and I suspect he decided he was going to be true to himself in his second.incarnario regardless of what others think of him.

Since Trump doesn't know shit about macroeconomics, he probably doesn't even know what a "recession" actually IS.

It can be avoided, but business and consumers need some real clarity, or they'll just freeze up, and that would do it.

Unfortunately, Trump doesn't know shit about real clarity, either.

I'm glad you didn't try to deny what he said.

Kudos.
Eliminating some government employment and saving hundreds of billions of dollars to start just through government fat will be a negative to a nation that has greased the wheels of this for decades. I propose that every American e declared a government employee and have a 100-thousand-dollar minimum salary with total benefits and three months of vacation per year with 50 sick days working a 40-hour week schedule All pregnant women getting 6 months off with pay and benefits. Progs says this is the recipe for utopia.

How can anyone put a positive spin on a guy with dozens of felony convictions who robbed his own cancer charity?
They just don't care. It's as simple as that.

They've been told they're at war with evil, that he is The One to win the war, and they believe it.

When Progressive politicians tell you no matter what opinion you have, they are going to get what they push, that tells you what evil is. So, Granholm and Kerry say it makes no difference who is elected that the green eco movement will still win. So, we get to spend tens of trillions of dollars on the shoulders of Americans while the rest of the word does not. The 25% inflation is not a warning to you idiots.

100 thousand minimum salary?....3 months vacation a year?.....50 sick days a year?....working a 40 hour week?....what the hell branch of govt is that?....i was in the wrong dept....

We the people have become so addicted to cheap this and cheap that and ok with trillion dollar deficits and government handouts for so long we take it for granted. Whoever is left standing in this musical chairs government we have created will be the chump. Blame who you will, but we all participated in the fuckery.

What a blind bunch of Sheeple .
Deep State decides whom it's leaders are for North America .
And it has chosen two brilliantly capable people of total opposite public character --- Trumpfy and Carney .

Biden was placed to be hopeless and the leaders behind him deliberately wrecked the economy .

You Sheeple are seeing everything through the old model of Red and Blue .
But that is not how the game is played
. And you have got what you all deserve because you had no idea what was going on and still have not, judging by this puerile thread .

This would be what Progs think that utopia is for us all. Like it all comes from nothing. I know this is not the reality.

Passing Trump's tax cuts would be a great help, but Democrats only care about the rich and their money laundering schemes. Democrats have abandoned the American worker since Obama.

Yes they have, by making PC & Identity Politics a higher priority. A massive political blunder.

Regardless, Trump admits he may be causing a recession. An honest person would just admit that.
