Trump administration revokes security clearances of 37 current and former government officials

19 Aug 2025 ~~ By | Eric Tucker, Aamer Madhani and Matthew Lee

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration moved Tuesday to revoke the security clearances of 37 current and former national security officials in the latest act of retribution targeting public servants in the federal government’s intelligence community.
A memo posted by Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, accuses the targeted officials of having engaged in the “politicization or weaponization of intelligence” to advance partisan goals, as well as a failure to safeguard classified information and a “failure to adhere to professional analytic tradecraft standards.”
The action, coming months after an even broader clearance suspension on his first day in office, is part of a broader campaign by President Donald Trump’s administration to scrutinize the judgments of intelligence officials he personally disagrees with. Critics of his approach have said it risks chilling dissenting voices within the government.

Commentary:
This isn’t retribution against these people, it is both a security measure, and justice to even a small degree for their lawbreaking.
But, I fully enjoy seeing them get angry about it. Knowing what a gravy train it is that is unwisely granted to them, in which they have abused, I take special pleasure in their frustration and anger.

Everyone involved in the insurrection ordered by Obama in December of 2016 needs to have security clearances stripped, and be prosecuted for treason.

It just boggles my mind to wonder just how many people have security clearances.

I've always thought it was stupid to have people not directly involved with government to still have clearances.

The news passes judgement that it’s retaliatory. Increasingly failing its former mission to simply present the facts and let the readers decide. It’s why the media is So corrupted
