Trump Administration enforcing the Alien Registration Act.

Grok recommends that "The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 includes provisions that have historically been underutilized, such as Section 287(g), which allows federal authorities to delegate immigration enforcement to state and local law enforcement."

Sounds like a good idea to me.

This is how you do it folks.

You don't need congress to pass new laws...just find old laws that have never been revealed and enforce them.

Oh, so those who are here illegally will march down to the local government office and register, eh?

"This is how you do it folks."

Unfortunately the law was passed in 1940 and the fine is only $1,000

Yep, it is, especially if you've overstayed a visa.

ANYONE coming to the United States for over 30 days is required to register AND provide fingerprints. It will make it much easier to identify those who overstay their visa, and deport them.

Plus, when border crossing illegals are apprehended, this is a second charge. $1000 and up to six months in jail for crossing the border illegally, and another $1000 and six months in jail for noncompliance with the alien registration act.

Anything over 364 days is Prison time. Then deportation.

I'd be deterred.

And up to six months in jail.

Six months for illegal entry and six months for non-registration served concurrent is prison time.
