I believe sport governing bodies should regulate fairness and safety, not the government, just like conservatives used to think. She followed the established rules at the time. If the governing board thinks those rules need to be changed they should do it - I have no issues. I am not an expert on the nuances of swimming fairness. I think the outsized outcry about it is pure hate filled bigotry. I am fine with disappointing a transgender athlete and barring them from competition in womens sports based on clearly defined rules of fairness. The vitriol and hate though is disgusting.
