This is reckless, dangerous and just insane. Our Founders gave Congress the ultimate power to guard against a president run amok. They just never anticipated that we'd be cursed with such spineless irresponsible cowards as Ryan & McConnell

What is reckless about this?

Germany in particular needs the U.S market. If they go off and counter what it already a retaliation by the U.S, they will lose. They have a $275B trade surplus while America loses half a trillion a year.

Volkswagon built a $1B plant in Mexico and gets a nice big reward by the U.S market by shopping there. This is the reason for tariffs, to avoid such imbalances that decimate the U.S worker. This, on top of heavy tariffs for U.S made cars into Germany.

Why is it reckless? And conversely, why is it NOT reckless for the EU to impose tariffs on OUR products?
