At one point in time, Tinian was the largest airfield in the Pacific region. While not currently operational, this historic island is still considered to be one of the most important battlegrounds in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. military today.

Despite its relatively small size of about 39 square miles, this mighty territory in the Mariana Islands quickly became a strategic foothold for both Japanese and American forces following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. In 1944, the U.S. military captured Tinian, establishing a crucial base for air operations against Japan. The island was home to the U.S. military’s largest B-29 Superfortress fleet, which launched the atomic bombs that ended World War II.

Following the end of WWII, military activity on Tinian ceased, which resulted in the deterioration of its airfields. With the island now re-emerging as a key strategic location for the U.S. military, the 513 ERHS is working alongside Navy Seabees to restore Tinian’s runways and return them to operable conditions.

Yeah, it's only about 100 miles north of Guam. But why not have another long runway for whatever?

Pretty cool really.

This is absolutely insane, the U.S. plan is to "hide" planes and move them around in the event of a Chinese attack on Andersen Field in Guam? I suggest everyone watch the WSJ video and see if our DEI forces are ready to fight a war half a world away in China's backyard.

The answer is no. The answer is hell no. And this plan to try and "hide" aircraft sounds like a clusterfuck in the making.

Currently, Guam and Tinian are out of range of chi-com cruise missiles, so dispersal makes some sense as a mass cruise missile attack is the most pressing concern.

If it gets hotter than that (ICBMs) then all bets are off and you will be wondering, for a second, why the sun came up at 0300. ;)

Their hypersonic missiles will soon have the range to reach Guam and Tinian, I'm sure the North Koreans are working closely with them to make this possible. Shooting them out of the sky is not easy.

The incredible lack of foresight in making our enemy a great superpower shows how Western greed will ultimately undo American dominance and lead to its downfall. Hell, I saw this coming decades ago, and the Chinese likely recognized it before that.

There is a gap between having a long range and actually being able to hit something with it, especially in wartime conditions. And, the more targets there are the more likely enough will survive and kill you, so the more bases scattered around the better, as well as more ships.

If Iran or the Reds thought they could take us easily they already would have. they can't even take Israel or Saudi Arabia.

The real threat is the treason within our own country.

Throw in all the tech giants who love transferring tech to them.

Bill Gates has been their biggest fan and booster for a couple of decades now.

But Danni, Trump is going to get rid of all the DEI hires and bring real soldiers back.

Sheesh. Why do you think we elected him!

My dad was a paratrooper in the Philippines and went into Japan. He came back with $5,000 in gambling winnings and bought a house.
