President Donald Trump announced that NPR and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) would no longer receive funding in a Thursday executive order, citing bias in favor of left-wing perspectives. Cruz noted that Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell of Washington made comments about the order, before electing to tell “the rest of the story.”

“The Communications Act requires public media entities, like NPR, to strictly adhere to ‘objectivity and balance in all programs or series of programs on a controversial nature,’” Cruz said. “Unfortunately, NPR does not. Last Congress, I put out a detailed report how NPR took millions in earmarked donations from left-wing mega-donors for very specific coverage.”

“NPR continues to have a dedicated news desk for climate and for race, both of which are propped up by liberal mega-donors,” Cruz said. “This is the same woman, who in January 2020, months before the death of George Floyd, tweeted, ‘Yes, the North, Yes, all of us. Yes, America. Yes, our original collective sin and unpaid debt. Yes, reparations. Yes, on this day.’”

“I think it’s more than time for some accountability,” Cruz said.

Ted Cruz is both an idiot and precisely the type of geek that got daily swirlies in High School. I mean do the research. In college, well he was a debate king. Too bad he is young, he is exactly the type of person I ate for lunch on the debate circuit. Private schools, spoiled rich brat, yeah, I ate them for lunch. Sometimes, I put my name on the board, put my school on the board, and the opposition immediately withdrew. I was a double diamond in the Forensic world, unheard of. I mean think about it, Andover, Fred T. Foard, Andover withdraws. Comical.

NPR doesn't even get ten percent of their funding from the government. They subsist mainly on supporters, like me, who have been a monthly contributor for decades. What is more free enterprise than that? And yes, they spout truth, something commercial media can't possibly do. Fox News, MSNBC--they all suck. They court advertisers, not listeners.

And that is just it. This whole thing is about silencing dissent. And that is a problem. If you are confident in your position, if you believe you are right, then you welcome dissent. If you know you are blowing smoke up everyone's ass, you stifle it. What a bunch of cowards.

Right now, anyone on the right, Cruz, Shapiro, I challenge them to a real debate, 8/3 with a cross X. I will take AOC as my partner. A flippin bartender. And yes, I go negative. They can create the resolution, they can come up with the "plan", I will rip them a new asshole. Like most my partners, beauty queens, AOC can just sit there and look pretty.

Sure, I am a little frustrated with PBS, this whole diversity thing is getting out of hand. But when it comes to real news, they are by far the best choice. Slavery, damn skippy, the North has as much responsibility as the South. Has no one read Paul Revere's ride, sorry to go over everyone's head. But read the editorials of the time period. The North had no problem, as long as they got their cut. New York City took in more profits from slavery than any plantation owner. Only when the South said no more, that is when it became a problem. Ironically, it was all about tariffs. When Sumter said Charlestown would be duty free all hell broke loose. Damn but you people have no knowledge of history.

Winston...thank you for not shunning me and I admire that you support NPR.

The fact is tho they get $$$ from the GOV and if you steal 1 hubcap you are a thief. I worked with a (black) guy who listen to in his workarea....so I have been exposed to it./ There stories are all the same and very anti-Israel no matter what the story is. (The Palis would haven't blown up that bus if the JOOOs (like me) were on thier land.

I also admit they are the best choice if you want to hear one sided stories.

FOX / CNN isn't news...it has become entertainment for those who want to hear what they want to hear...in a certain format. (eg)jokes and orange Man Bad.

Look, I am willing to agree, NPR has trended left for quite sometime. Not really wanted to get in the whole Jews, Palestinian thing. But the diversity thing, the gay thing, the immigrant thing, yes, it is getting old. But still, NPR is the most unbiased new source out there.

Winston...as I have already mentioned I have heard it at length.

I like thier format...I just don't like when they make a big deal out of the IDF kicking the shit out of a reporter but not give'n = time to the 6 JOOOs (my people) getting killed the next day in a terrorist attack. Or report the Pali leadership / people were dancing in the streets over the 6 dead kikes. (I am allowed to say that)

As far as the gay stuff, etc...I am glad people like you have a place to go and hear it non-bias.

Do you think the heads of CNN really care about the struggles homosexuals go thru ?

It is all about the bucks ! BTW: I looked up NPR...CEO's salary and it is quite modest.
