Time for a third party - nuts to the left, nuts to the right, normal is in the middle.
We have far left having too much influence on the Democrat party and extremist Trumpism taking over the Republican party. They are all nuts. I would like to take both groups and kick their sorry ass out of the USA, but the Constitution will not allow that.
We need a new party for normal, balanced people. Republicans represent 25% of the population, Democrats represent 31% of the population. The new party could be 44%.

I think so too, but I've given up on the idea. At least for now.

The two parties now are so unattractive that the need for a third party in between them is obvious. And you'd think that many from both parties would jump ship if a decent alternative popped up. But our system, as it is today, just doesn't allow for it. And worse, our society is so tribal and binary now that it's tough to imagine that moderate lefties and moderate righties in leadership positions would even talk to each other.

I hope I'm wrong. This is a shit show.

You clowns are nowhere near 31%

If I'm considered a "nut" because:

1. I believe in ALL amendments, including the 2nd.
2. I believe its wrong to kill babies in the womb
3. I think all lives matter.
4. I don't think legalizing pot is the answer to the drug problem.
5. I believe in a mommy AND a daddy in a relationship
6. I don't think you can change your sex or "pick" your sex
7. I think kids should be in school full time

Then yea, I'm a right wing nut and damn proud of it. I'm not going to give in on any of those. Those used to be known as "core principals" now they're "nutter" stuff. We don't need a 3rd party, we need the left to come back more toward the middle. The right hasn't changed much since Reagan, the left has gone WAY left.

The middle isn't normal...its weak and frightened....God respects fighters not wishy washy middle of the roaders...choose a side or get run over....
I've been called a lot of things... Weak and frightened is a new one.

The left today is pushing socialism and is in eyesight of communism. The right has no conservatism. At least conservatism that has real push. The Republican Party seems to have a lot of agendas from the 1950's and 1960's Dems or closer to it And they are ostricized for that. So your middle party would be between those two marks.

Your 'too far left' is what is considered pretty close to normal in all the world's leading democracies. There's hardly room for any so-called middle.

America has no choice but to change to middle road or moderate left over time. There's no answer in the right and Trump didn't propose any such thing. Trump's support was simply angry ripped off American working people.

Inevitably, sooner or later Americans are going to have to ask themselves what they're so pissed off about.

Elizabeth Warren has explained the way out of the hell America's politics has created for the people. It's as simple as putting limits on big money with a sensible level of taxation.

A middle party has one foot on the dock and the other in a canoe, while the Gulf is widening.

My wild-ass guess is that that's where we're heading. What no one saw coming was this final, ugly primal scream from much of the Right. And my concern is that the reaction to this primal scream will pull us too far to the Left.
