I answered his question, many countries want nuclear power and yes I do believe they will have it ,and Israel has no right to interfere daily saying what a threat Iran is . Who is Israel to be in charge of this. The Arab countries want Israel monitored as well.

Nice post, in a way. First, let me knock off a few. Your first link and your #1 are the same info. I do not know about Iran's ambitions, but honestly if Iran really wanted to have "the bomb" they would and could already from the old USSR. So it possibly could be considered that Iran is only after a clean power source. But I am fairly ignorant on how to build a nuclear weapon.

Now your #2 link only brushes on the subject, however every link afterwards really doesn't have any convincing evidence to support your thread. Albeit I only perused the first few sentences in each.

I'll finish with this. The United States of America became a great 'superpower' during WWII and especially at the close when the U.S. actually used "the bomb" on its enemy. Since then, it has spent countless billions to create and add to its arsenal of weapons and delivery systems. However it (the U.S.) has lost its status since.

Sure we shouldn't have used them during the Korea conflict. That would have been a real mess. During the Vietnam war? Maybe, but probably good we didn't then either. Gulf War 1? Nope. The Iran hostage crisis? Maybe a limited strike then would have woke the world up to who was a 'superpower'. OK I'm out of sequence.

After 9/11? Yes definitely! That is when we should have let those subs and the nukes within them stop 'decaying' and launched a limited nuclear strike on Afghanistan. That is when we should have reminded the world that we are a superpower. But instead we just let them rot. And the world laughs at us and does not take us seriously at all.

The M.E. has sunshine and barren land, so why not build solar arrays to provide the electricity. If a British home can generate enough power for the home in the depths of winter then what could iran produce . The carbon cost in building ,running and decommissioning nuclear is greater than the carbon cost of fossil fuel generation.

Hey I agree with all renewable energy, but everyone wants nuclear power. Get rid of all, or quit making countries upset by laying heavy sanctions on those you don't want getting it. I believe the plants need to be very closely monitored and yes I would rather the windmills and solar panels.

I am not going in to Pandora's box by repeating the endless propaganda I've listened to for years. Nothing has changed. I do not see Israel being attacked. How do I know Russia wont strike or we in the US wont get a trigger hungry president who goes by the what 2001 law, if a President feels impeding terrorist threat has right to declare war by self ?? Listening to some of these congressmen talk , I am a bit concerned about some of them.

Edited to add: Upon further thought, your right, I know there is a difference and something to do with uranium and that, but really I do not know, so I did find an article, but not being a scientist, I don't understand it but just to know there is a difference which has to do with the amounts of uranium and plutonium etc.:

I know you're laughing but Monty is right in my estimation...Look at a map...Visualize nukes at Iran...The fallout and prevailing winds move towards the East into China, or Northeast into Russia who would justifiably nuking Israel...

Not to mention Nuclear armed Radical Islamist Pakistan...

I was visualizing nukes on Afghanistan after 9/11. The fallout would have wafted up over the Himalayas into far eastern China to the Gobi desert. I doubt much harm would have come from it.

Commercial nuclear power is completely different from atomic weapons. There are two types of atomic weapons – a U-bomb and a Pu-bomb. Each needs the material to be almost totally the one radionuclide, over 90% of either U-235 or Pu-239. For a U-bomb, you don’t need a nuclear reactor, you just need to enrich the U-235 up to about 93%, way more then the 5% for a commercial reactor.
Anything greater than 20% U-235 is considered highly enriched, and can theoretically be made into a device. But anything less than 90% is too heavy and unreliable. Since using an atomic weapon is crossing quite a line, you better be sure it works since the consequences of trying may get you blown off the face of the Earth

(sounds scary, and that is why we need close monitoring and no country really should be allowed to refuse to be checked)
