Osaka, Aug 30, 2025 – A large-scale protest swept through central Osaka yesterday as thousands of residents rallied against Japan’s immigration policies. The demonstration, which began near Umeda and extended through key commercial districts, was organized by local nationalist groups and drew an estimated crowd of over 3,000 participants, according to unofficial counts.

A Surge in Anti-Immigration Sentiment

Protesters carried banners and chanted slogans calling for a complete halt to immigration, citing concerns over cultural dilution, rising crime, and economic strain. The march comes amid growing public unease over Japan’s evolving immigration framework, which has seen a steady rise in foreign workers and residents over the past decade.

Government data shows that Japan’s foreign resident population reached approximately 3.4 million in 2024, up from 2.8 million in 2019—a nearly 21 percent increase. The largest groups include workers from Vietnam, China, and the Philippines, many of whom are employed in sectors facing acute labor shortages such as construction, caregiving, and agriculture.

Good for them. Flooding every developed nation with third-world foreigners is not for the benefit of the people that live there.....I can understand importing Koreans, Vietnamese, and such but Hindus?

That said they should have been pumping out more kids.

The population of the Empire of Japan has been in decline over the past 50 years, and they still aren't anxious for illegals moving in.

The Japanese are smart. They see what Islam is doing in Europe and the US. they don't want it there.

The percentage of foreigners in Japan is slightly over 4%

Thats pretty small compared to the US

South Korea has a large foreign population

But also a far left president with close ties to china and north korea

I worry about them more than Japan

The pro replacement argument centers around the low birth rate in Japan

Which why the development of robots is so big there

You cannot become a citizen in Asian nations, they don't play that. In Europe they allowed the barbarians full rights and privileges of citizenship with barely any oversight at all. Now they are stuck with them.

In Japan, and most of Asia, these immigrants can be kicked out of their country tomorrow if they decide they are no longer needed, or more importantly, if they break the law.

It was an obscure demonstration organized by @o6yata. It made news headlines only because Musk endorsed it on X. Elon Musk previously commented that Japan has to preserve the cultural identity since there is value to a culture.
