In WW2, bomber pilots knew they were over the target when they started taking flack. For decades Trump was a beloved public figure. It wasn’t until he ran for president and threatened the “establishment” that started to take flack. And boy, did it come in heavy and hasn’t let up.
Trump is not a perfect man. He is the perfect men for the job.
What Europeans see is a group of people that want to believe?

Democrats are more connected with reality and facts...
Trump was a terrible President:
Economy: He raised the deficit by 50% while getting no real difference in GDP growth from Obama.
Immigration: Trump cut funding to security services south of the border (multiple countries), this made these countries considerably less stable and more violent. This causes people to flee, where do we think they go?
This was clear towards the end of his Presidency when encounters
