Liberties such as free speech, freedom of religion and the right to keep and bear arms are the bane of the Liberal's agenda to make America a socialist shithole. That is why they hate those liberties so much and will applaud anybody that does away with the rights like the UK doing it to Fox.

Make no mistake about it. The Left in America would do away with every freedom and everything in the Bill of Rights if it would further their agenda to make the US a socialist shithole.. They would do it in a heartbeat and not even know it was wrong.

But you have to ask yourself is this a government thing or a capitalist thing? After all, if there is no audience, there is no reason to keep Fox on the air.

Now if Fox was highly rated and the government took them off for no reason other than their disagreements, then it might be a more interesting subject. I don't know much about their media there, but probably unlike us who fund PBS and NPR, their government will not subsidize low rated political outlets.

Brits are smarter because they prefer state run media like BBC over independent and contrary news? That's not smart, that's indoctrinated.

Just as Canada, a country that has the most concentrated media ownership in the G8, and in which peopel basically parrot what they've seen, since everyone has seen the same bs. I was only exposed to CNN, and I didn't like Fox News initially either as it was too "blunt" for me. Over time, I started to appreciate that they have debates and have discussion that both sides push. It was refreshing.

What really shifted my interest was seeing the same headlines, word for word, on both CBC and CNN. I started to really worry about this since I know Americans don't want the system we have here.

The BBC is much better than US news programs. The BBC isn't for profit, for a start.

US news media still does what the govt wants. Take anti-Iranian propaganda, or the anti-Iraqi anti-Saddam propaganda, they all get on board with it.
