When I lived in Cleveland decades ago, I remember going to Little Italy where the Italians lived. Some didn't speak English. The Polish area had some amazing food. A friend of mines family was big on keeping their Slovenian heritage alive.

The US population in 1925 was 115 million. Immigration was restricted during most of that fifty years, but we still increased the population by 100 million.
