Because they aren't accurate. It doesn't matter though democrats just need to feel better and passing laws no matter if they work makes them feel like they did something.

Because there is no one law that's going to stop every right wing nut from shooting up a place.

What I find so amusing about this is that most if not all of the people in Congress and the media who are going on and on about the bump stock until a few days ago didn't know the difference between a bump stock and a bumper sticker.

Bump stocks are a side issue because accuracy when using one is virtually nil. Furthermore, they cause the gun being used to overheat.
