It was passed around one of the big media conglomerates, which owns all those stations....It's hardly more surprising than the evening "news" being basically a transcription service for AP, Reuters, and NYT.

Those were all local stations, which were owned by the same big media corporation....HQ sent the memo to them all....Not at all unlike what happens at the corporate HQ of any other big company.
