Obozos reign of Communism pretty much killed off most of the vacationing culture to places like Las Vegas, and it really hasn't recovered.

The smaller places, like ski resorts have managed to come back, but places like Las Vegas are going to take more time to recover.........if at all.

That doesn't mean it's back up to the levels it was 10 years ago, only that it was a bit over that of the previous year.

A friend of mine came back from a trade show in Las Vegas about ten years ago and when I visited him he had a huge collection of the business cards of whores spread out on his coffee table. Hundreds of them.

This makes me think -- I need to have a conversation with my nephew, who lives in Vegas, about how they raised their kids there, in that kind of atmosphere.

Apparently the "trade" people are forbidden from leaving the strip area, unless they are working out of one of the sanctioned "homes".

They are NOT allowed around children or adults that have children with them.

They ARE allowed to advertise and distribute contact information to ADULTS only. This does NOT include young people that may be of age or not. If they don't "look" adult, the "working class" are to stay away from them. There are apparently VERY strict guidelines and rules they have to follow.

Most of these "working people" stick to business conventions, adult tour groups, adult oriented only hotels, the strip, casinos (because no kids allowed), bars, and night clubs.

When I was there with a friend (I had won a trip there), they had news stands on the sidewalks with "catalogs" in them for free. These "catalogs" were pictures of the "working class" of the area, with their contact information. Pretty much a menu of prostitutes........female and male.

But that was in 1994......I don't know if it's changed or not.

Yeah, they cannot actually go INTO a hotel to "look for work", unless they are with a "client".
They have to stay outside some distance from the entrances.

Most of them today don't even walk the streets anymore, I'm sure.......since there is the internet to advertise your "wares" and meet up with people outside of the hotels. I would think the only actual streetwalkers are the ones that spend all their money on drugs and don't have a smart phone or pc.
