The S.I.C are driving us into homelessness and starvation.

At least they have options if they can't eat, the government will be so benevolent as to allow you to pursue assisted suicide options offered by the state.

June Gaw says she's heard a number of stories over the years about the effects of food insecurity in Thunder Bay, Ont., and the situation is getting worse.

"One client actually had to choose between purchasing her medication or food," said Gaw, co-ordinator of the Current River Churches Food Cupboard, which is based inside Refreshing Waters Community Church. "She was in tears here registering because she had never used a food bank before and really felt very awful to have to come."

The service has been operating in the northwestern Ontario city for more than four decades, and has shifted to a few different locations in that time.

But now that rent is going up at the Hodder Avenue building, both the church and food bank must pack up by the end of the month.

"The people have come to rely on us totally and it's going to be a huge loss," said Gaw. "We just cannot close. I do not see that as an option. I really feel there will be a place for us."

The team is determined to find a new space in the neighbourhood, otherwise they may be forced to close for good. Their ideal location would be wheelchair-accessible and able to accommodate three freezers, two refrigerators and several tables and chairs.

I thought Canada had free health care.
