You see, unlike U.S conservatives who admire technology whether it's Trump supporting A.I and crypto, or newly shifted libertarian Musk who support all kinds of technology and capitalism, Canadian "conservatives" support cops. That's it. If they were to run on policy it would be "we love a police state. We love our cops who never do wrong".
This Police State attitude permeates across all Parties to some degree. Unless there is some legitimate nation security concern, they should be welcomed.
A Phd doing A.I in Canada, I've seen ads in Toronto, a very expensive city, "must have four years experience" and they pay $75k a year. In the same city, we have regular cops making well over $150k. Some, $200K with OT.
America is going to prosper as Canada decline, there is no question about this. Our caste system of nepotism is not designed for the global competition of innovation.
A recurring theme in Canada is that they hate intelligent people, they despise them, resent them even, just as so many in Canada resent the U.S Constitution. It's frightening.

After earning a master’s degree in computer science in his native France, Gabriel Huang was drawn to a PhD program in Quebec to be mentored by a renowned pioneer in machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence.
The Frenchman not only fell in love with Montreal but also with a man, a diplomat from Taiwan, that he met — and later married — while studying at an AI research institute.
Many of his classmates at Mila, the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, left for opportunities and better pay in the U.S. after graduation. Huang decided to pursue permanent residence and build a new life in Canada with his husband, Pang-Ying Peng.
But more than 28 months after the couple submitted their application in 2023 — and with both their postgraduation work permits expiring by the end of this year — Huang, 31, and Peng, 35, are nervous about their future in Canada.

This scientist is the kind of immigrant Canada says it wants. He might have to leave for the U.S. anyway
