The Erez and Kerem Shalom Crossings, used to transfer cargo into Gaza, are closed for the first time since the end of Operation Protective Edge due to rocket fire from Gaza that hit the Eshkol Region in southern Israel on Friday. There were no injuries.

The incident was the second time since the ceasefire began that terrorists in Gaza had aimed missiles towards Israel.

The renewed fire is seen by Israeli authorities as a clear violation of the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire with Hamas following the summer war.

Its easy enough to test who is to blame by looking at what happened in Gaza. IF the problem is the "occupation" (as was claimed in this thread) then the complete withdrawal of Israel from Gaza should have resulted in peace. It did not. The Palestinians of Gaza continue to attack Israel. And indeed, the Palestinians in Gaza no longer say the "occupation" is the problem, but have come up with new reasons (excuses) to attack Israel.

Its easy enough to test who is to blame by looking at what happened when the PA was given control of Areas A and B. IF the problem is the "occupation" then the gradual handing over of territory to create a third Palestinian state should have resulted in peace. It did not. And indeed, the Palestinians in the West Bank keep coming up with new reasons (excuses) to attack Israel.

Its easy enough to test who is to blame by looking at what happened when the Muslim Waqf was given authority over the Temple Mount (and the Jewish people were denied their rights to worship at their own holy place). IF the problem was concern for the Haram Al-Sharif and the buildings there, the continuation of the status quo there should have resulted in peace. It did not.
In all cases, if the Palestinians simply stopped attacking Israel and Israelis -- there will be peace.

It is actually Israel's move. Either they continue the occupation or withdraw from the occupied territories and remove the blockade. The Palestinians can do no more than resist the occupation.
