So first up - the IDF forcing Palestinian civilians to wear IDF uniforms, first investigated and reported by the Israeli paper Haaretz

Israeli soldiers are using Palestinian civilians as human shields in Gaza to enter and clear tunnels and buildings they suspect may have been booby-trapped, a leading Israeli NGO and newspaper have reported.

The practice was so widespread across different units fighting in Gaza that it could in effect be considered a “protocol”, said Nadav Weiman, the executive director of Breaking the Silence, a group founded by Israeli combat veterans to document military abuses.

The group has collected testimony describing the practice from veterans of the 10-month war in Gaza. The accounts they have heard match those reported in an investigation by the newspaper Haaretz, which claimed that the chief of staff’s office was aware of the practice.

“The senior ranks know about it,” one source said to have taken part in finding civilians to serve as human shields told the paper. “Our lives are more important than their lives,” Haaretz quoted commanders telling their soldiers.

Their hands are tied together and a camera is attached to their bodies as they go in. “Palestinians are told: ‘Do one mission of … a [tunnel] shaft and you’re free,’” Haaretz quoted one soldier saying.

Afterwards, the men are reportedly released to join their families – underlining to the soldiers who spoke to Haaretz and Breaking the Silence that they were civilians who did not pose any military threat and had been detained only for the clearance operations.

Footage of Palestinian civilians, including some in IDF uniform, being sent into devastated buildings was obtained by Al Jazeera and broadcast in July.

Why should an Israeli soldier die, when it was Palestinians who voted for HAMAS who planted the bombs in Gaza. Sounds "kosher" to me. Of course if the Palestinians outed the HAMAS, from the start maybe there wouldnt be any bombs planted.

Does it happen? I'm sure it does. Individual soldiers, even individual units, do not always behave well in war. The fact that the IDF had to "clarify" its orders and protocols, probably indicates that it was a significantly widespread tactic.

There may have been instances of this occurring, but keep in mind that the Gaza terrorists have used the entire population of Gaza as human shields for years, dating back to the war in 2008, causing thousands of civilian deaths and expressing no remorse so the sins of a few Israeli soldiers are miniscule by comparison.

Well the thesis "Islam is a religion of violence" is a different thesis to "Islamic terrorism has been around since 600AD".

We were talking about the latter and the sources I used in support of my position support the view that Islamic terrorism is quite new, starting around mid 20th century.

If one wants to argue that "Islam is a religion of violence" by invoking interpretations of sacred texts then it is easy to show that Judaism too is a religion of violence, much of the recorded history of the Israelites involves violence, why single out the Koran in this respect?

Neither Jews nor Muslims have used terrorism much at all before the rise of extremist Zionism - Islamic terrorism was spawned by Zionist terrorism. It's an abuse of history to speak of Islamic terrorism as being unrelated to extremist Zionism.

Arguably Christian terrorism is far older than Zionist or Islamic terrorism.

There are strong arguments one can form that show how Zionist terrorism in the 1920s, circuitously led to the destruction of the World Trade center eighty years later, there's a causal link between the two.
