Dear Tipsycatlover I think that was lost a long time back. Now the media is just recycling old "hot button" issues trying to bait the right, push more buttons, and trigger more anger till it is all vented out in the open.

I think this process is like teasing or tormenting a child until they are too exhausted to cry anymore. totally abusive.

The point of this exercise is to learn NOT TO TAKE THE BAIT.

That goes for both sides. We will end up either totally calm and forgiving as saints so this doesn't get a rise out of us. Or so whacked out turning off our emotions and shutting down, we could become a society of sociopaths who no longer feel empathy because it hurts too much.

The brains of disciplined monks compared with brains of sociopaths lacking empathy have been shown to follow the same patterns, in not being distracted emotionally by crises or triggers, but being able to focus on making decisions without emotional attachments.

We'll either end up like the Dalai Lama, not reacting emotionally but just smiling while others inflict suffering on themselves in self-induced insanity. Or we will end up in the same mess as the left if we keep taking the bait and going off looking and sounding just as crazed.
