The four Olds is right out of Mao's teaching. Under his philosophy the entirety of Chinese culture has to be destroyed. It was the cultural revolution. The Chinese version of burn it down. The United States is following that exact path.

Bill Maher and I would probably disagree on more than we agree. I bridle when he personally attacks somebody I appreciate or admire, but I appreciate him for being one of the few leftists leftists who still utilizes critical thinking and can separate reality from propaganda. He is one I think I would enjoy sitting down and having a conversation with over dinner.

In this short verbal essay, he begins with: "If you're part of today's woke revolution, you need to study the part of revolutions where they spin out of control."

He goes on to illustrate, in an entertaining way, how much of our modern leftist 'virtue' is right out of Chairman Mao's and Lenin's playbook.

Takes a very few minutes to listen and it is worth it:

As Bill Maher said in an entertaining way but didn't pull any punches, the 'woke' revolution demands these kinds of cultural change and any who don't appreciate them must be re-educated or cancelled. To the general public that doesn't spend every waking hour wondering about what gender they are or what their sexual orientation is, it's nuts. And it strays strongly into the area of grooming not only kids but everybody remaking them in some sort of fuzzy 'woke' inclusive society that is somehow better than the 'olds' that have sustained societies for millenia.

Even Saturday Night Live, barely a shell of its former funny and entertaining self, had enough of this kind of cultural restructure that borders on insanity:

Thank you. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels knew they had to break down culture, communities, families, religion, all the 'olds' Maher refers to in his essay, in order to create the peaceful, sharing, unselfish, efficient society they promised. Of course that required a total totalitarian control over the people and complete mind/speech control, destruction of all their old values and beliefs that have serve humanity well for its entire existence in order to remake everybody into what the reformers demand that they be. Destroy history. Destroy values. Destroy beliefs. Destroy relationships. Shame, ridicule, coerce, threaten, extort, punish, cancel, destroy any who refuse to comply.

Unfortunately once a government achieves that kind of power, never in all of history has it willingly relinquished that power to the people.

And meanwhile human nature continues:

Those who receive without working for it will generally work less or not at all.
Those who work without receiving will generally work less or not at all.
And eventually when few or none are working or just going through the motions of working, all will be poor except for those who exploit them.

All of us who were actually educated in public schools and universities were probably taught that in communist/socialist countries that confiscated and redistributed farm produce found that farmers, who were seeing less and less profit from their labor, produced less and less. But the home gardens that the government left alone flourished magnificently. Such is human nature. And that is why capitalism and liberty, with all its downsides, is the only economic concept that advances and promotes prosperity among the most people.
