As the titles suggests. If we abandon G-d, what will we worship in his place? We may not view it as false idolatry but it would seem so to me. In a.G-dless society can we reasonably expect our nations to remain free and moral?

What's the purpose of religion for the average Joe?

I'd say it's about creating a fantasy world in which to live in. It's also a source of power which kept people down/organized, however you want to put.

The modern world has entertainment to keep people occupied, people are creating their own fantasy worlds through politics too.

In terms of morals, are we saying the less religious a country, the less the morality of the people?

Least religious countries.

1) China. Has a murder rate of about 0.5 per 100,000 people, about 12 times lower than the US's rate. Main cities are safe, there are few, if no, no go zones.

2) Sweden. Safe, not as safe as China, but safe, the drivers stop if you even look like you're going to cross the crosswalk. They seem to be very moral people.

I don't equate lack of religion with a lack of morality. Some of the worst murder rates in the world are countries with a lot of religion. Latin America, for example.

Sure, but the people engaging in such horrific murder sprees are not people of.faith. In fact,.I might argue that they take.advantagr of the peaceful people of faith in their.nation.

You can't run the country our founders envisioned without morals. Just look at how the totalitarian heathens in our bureaucratic globalist establishment (deep state), our media and our education systems are destroying our country today. MAGA

Better to say that western governments are trying to extricate religion from their societies so that they turn to statism instead and worship THEM. Atheist governments don't like having any power around which is higher than them.

What could possibly go wrong if society abandons God?

What Christian denominations specifically have been abandoned?

Some religiosity is reactionary... Like the Taliban. That ultimately caused people to leave religion.

As religion and politics further co-mingle, more and more will be walking away.

It won't be through politics.
One of the great flaws of our species is our hubris.

Billions of galaxies. Septillions of stars. Yet, so many of us don't believe in a Creator.

We are so insignificant. This is intentional.

Sometimes faith impacts more than just the people of faith.

Why are Christian countries more likely to have higher murder rates?

Imagine you commit a crime, turn up to church and they say "all if forgiven, come back next week for all to be forgiven again", compared to "you stole a loaf because you're hungry, we chop off your hand".

Which is most likely to work?

I'm not saying the chopping off of hands is right, I'm only saying that religion impacts those who aren't religious within the country that has religion.

This is why there is a long lineup of people looking to migrant to Saudi Arabia for instance.

You say that like it's not true.

Saudi Arabia has a population of 36 million.

"there are over 10 million foreign workers in Saudi Arabia and that they make up about 21% of the population"

"The large majority of foreign workers are Indian, Pakistani, Egyptian, and Yemeni and they live together in compounds of gated communities—separated from the native population."

People will move to other countries, primarily for one reason. MONEY. Saudi Arabia has a lot of money. People will go.

Foreign workers. They aren't there to stay and they come from poorer nations. One can only wonder their prospects of becoming millionaires there.

You made a point, I proved you wrong.

The point you made was also kind of pointless.

Yes, people prefer free countries. But we're talking about religion and crime and the impact religion can have.

Religion impacts the whole country. The US's Constitution, while trying to be secular, was written by Christians using the Norman imposed systems in England as their basis, with modern changes to try and improve things.

The Bill of Rights was revolutionary, but in some part has led to higher crime in the US, because people have misunderstood what rights are, and so they end up being able to do whatever they want... regardless of whether rights protect it or not.

The UK had riots, lasted 6 days. The US had riots, lasted a year. Why? Because the US thinks freedom of speech means you can incite people to violence.

Yes true.

But gods are all manmade lies.

Dont know what to tell you. I dont need gods, I guess many need them or they self destruct.

Looking back in time, it can be noted this would not be the first time a people have abandoned God. Based on that, we can look forward to the future. There will be people of strong faith who will speak out. When the world/lives begin crumbling, we will be reminded and reassured that God never abandons His people. People will turn back, and God will bless that time, and we can expect faith and belief in God to again take wing, and the peoples' faith will take an even greater leap than what people of faith experience today.

Remember: God is good all the time. All the time God is good.
