There is a very clear tendency that can be traced through almost the entire foreseeable history. The left is afraid of the intelligentsia. This is especially true for the army. The totalitarian army has always been an infantry army that was easily controlled by the administration. A strong professional army for the left is a direct threat. Since for all their "pacifism", the regime is still supported by force, and if the force is outside their control, it is against them.
But besides that, they are afraid of competent engineers and scientists, quality education. The technical intelligentsia can organize a coup, because these are people who know how to do real things and organize complex processes. In leftist regimes, there is always a technical backwardness.
How can this be exploited from the point of view of the right?
PS In addition, there is one more aspect: the more literate and smart people are, the less they will be able to cheat, so they will lose legitimacy in proportion to the increase in the consciousness of the electorate.
