This is Why Pope Benedict XVI Resigned, and Why the Move Was Completely Unprecedented
The pontiff cited advanced age as the reason behind his shocking move in February 2013, though his decision may have been aided by the difficulties of bringing the Church into the 21st century.
Pope Benedict was the first Pope to resign in history, saying he had become too old to perform his duties. As we saw with Biden, sometimes this simply needs to be done, even though the DNC never admitted he was too old as they let him serve out his term as President, but insisted he not run again instead. Thankfully the nation did not seem to have to handle any crisis during the time Biden remained in office despite his dementia. But because of the bureaucracy and politics, they put the nation at risk for political reasons.
We see scandals so deep and far reaching within the Catholic church, namely the pedophile scandals, that it is far too much for one Pope to tackle. And in the US government, both the Left and Right have their own scandals that seem to only scratch the surface of investigating their political foes, with next to nothing every being done about anything regarding either.
And reforms within the church that everyone can blindly see needs to happen, are circumvented by layers of bureaucracy and past precedent that prevent it from ever coming about, much like we see in the US government today.
Is bureaucracy the greatest impediment to human progress? Can bureaucracy be reformed to address the never-ending injustices we see around us and the never-ending problems that seem to have us all in a spiral downward, or is it just a byproduct of the corruption of the fallen nature of man?
If the later, how can the corruption of man be addressed, other than just letting it destroy itself and everyone around it in a seemingly never-ending cycle?
I think that the downward spiral of corruption is forever ignored and instead replaced with the hope of revolution instead.
But revolution to do what? I guess to begin the spiral back downward.
