But his antics have created a world where US interests do not align with anyone elses.

Unfortunately, Trump expects to have a trade agreement with China finalized by the end of his Asian tour. Trump and China's Xi Jinping will meet later this week in South Korea. The Wall Street Journal reported that the US may agree to reduce the 20% tariffs it has imposed on China due to the influx of the synthetic drug fentanyl by up to 10% at the US-China summit. China does not want an escalation of the ongoing trade war and Trump will get what he wants from China in the end.



China's foreign ministry has announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the phone on Monday.

Wang reportedly stressed the importance of bilateral relations. He described Xi and Trump as "world-class leaders who have maintained long-term exchanges and mutual respect, which has become the most valuable strategic asset in China-U.S. relations." He said the talks prove that it is possible to stabilize and advance the bilateral relationship, as long as the two sides "resolve differences through dialogue, and refrain from resorting to pressure."
